| Imagine #23 | Giorno Giovanna

Start from the beginning

"That's alright. I think I'll just wait."

"Only ten thousand liras," he persists with a charming visage.

You shake your head, "No thanks."

The line moves forwards again, and you shuffled ahead.

He shrugs, "Alright then."

Watching him walk off to talk to another tourist, you sigh. Doing the math in your head, you know that the price he offered was pretty cheap, which means it was probably too good to be true.

Patiently, you await your turn for a legitimate taxi.

It took awhile but you finally arrived at the hotel, collapsing onto the bed as soon as you entered the room. Exhaustion takes over and you fell asleep.

Upon waking, you stretch leisurely before rising to prepare for the day.

Anticipating the adventure you'll have, you step out of the hotel after breakfast, ready to see the sights.

The day seemed to go by in a blur and now you're ready to head back to the hotel to relax and unwind.

As you walk, someone barges into you, knocking you over. You stare at their retreating form in shock. Not even an apology!

Suspicious, you quickly feel for your purse, finding it missing.

Cursing, you rapidly stand to your feet, sprinting after the man with resolve. No way are you letting him get away with your purse!

Just as you're about to reach him, someone stops him for you.

"I believe that purse doesn't belong to you," the calm voice of the purple-suited man states.

You gape at the sudden turn of events. The thief reluctantly gives the bag over before hightailing it out of here, leaving you and the blond in the alleyway. You hadn't even realized you had followed him into a shady alley.

"Thank you!" You exclaim after rediscovering your voice. "You saved me from a whole lot of trouble."

His smile is sincere and seems kind enough, "It's no problem, caro."

You fumble in your purse, taking out a fair amount of money before offering it to the male, "Here, for your trouble."

"As I said, it's no trouble."

"I insist," you press it firmly against his calloused hands, "As a token of my gratitude."

He appears to hesitate before accepting the currency, "If you insist."

"I do," you grin before your stomach decides to mortify you by grumbling in discontent. You flush in embarrassment as he chuckles.

"How about we get dinner? I know all the best restaurants in the area," he invites.

The offer is tempting but you're still wary of him. After all, he is a stranger. Although, he did help you out and he's been nothing but considerate towards you.

Maybe you could take a chance?

Ultimately, you're here to enjoy yourself and live a little, so why not?

"If it's no trouble, that sounds lovely," you smile gratefully.

He returns the look, beginning to lead the way out of the alley. You follow, your fears slowly departing as he initiates more conversation.

You talk about where you're from and how long you're planning to stay here before asking him more about himself. He informs you that he used to live in Japan before his family relocated here.

"I like it here, it's awesome."

"It is a wonderful country," he agrees.

You arrive at a little restaurant, looking at the couples already enjoying the delicious smelling food.

"Wow, this place looks great!" You observe a waiter carrying three steaming plates of pasta, practically drooling at the sight.

Giorno, (you finally remembered to ask his name after five minutes of talking), smiles in satisfaction, "I thought you'd like it."

A new waiter leads you to a table in the corner, handing you both menus. You squint at the foreign writing, trying to unravel what it says.

Giorno smirks, "Here, let me help."

He explains each dish, informing you of what his favorites are. When the waiter comes back, you confidently order f/p and Giorno orders his desired meal.

"So, you came to Italy for an adventure."

"Yeah. I was getting bored of doing the same old thing everyday and decided to do something about it. I'm really glad I did too, it's been a lot of fun and I've only been here for a day!"

"Tomorrow, if you want, I could show you some of the little known spots. It's more interesting than the places all the tourists go to. Of course, you have to visit the touristy areas as well, but if you want adventure..."

You smirk knowingly, "And of course, you won't ask for a tip."

Catching onto your reference of the conversation at the airport he chuckles, "For a tesoro such as yourself, it would be a crime to ask for a tip."

"'Tesoro'," you repeat, "What does that mean?"

"It's Italian for 'sweetheart'," he answers in an unrepentant amnner.

Your cheeks heat up at the realization, "Oh."

"So, what about it?"

"Huh?"

"Would you like me to show you the greatest spots of Italy?"

You shrug, "I mean, that'd be nice, but I don't have that much money..."

"That's alright. Spending more time with you is reward enough."

You laugh, "How about we make a deal? I'll pay you two-hundred-fifty American dollars to be my personal guide. No strings attached."

He contemplates it for a moment, before his face bursts into a smile. His eyes twinkle in delight, "Deal."

You shake his hand.

To be honest, he would have done it for free, but he's not about to pass up the opportunity to make some cash.

He's excited to spend more time getting to know you and you're also thrilled to remain with the male for a while longer.
