Walking back from the Daycare Delilah told me all about her day and the other kids and how the teacher gave her and extra juice box for being a good girl and on and on she went. I didn't care thought this little girl is my life. We stopped for the many crosswalks that were on the way joing at least thirty other to cross the busy street. People bumped into eachother and shoved eachother every which wait getting impatient. People in this city can be just plain rude sometimes. Someday maybe I'll leave but not yet. The crosswalk dinged and we continued our journey back home.

Once homed we dropped Delilah's stuff off in our room and headed to Rose's to order some food while we bake her cake.

"Rose" I yelled walking into apartment. She gave us a key last year.

"Where do you want to order from today?"

"I say pizza this week my dear."

Once a week we bake sweets with Rose and order in some type of food. Sometimes it's pizza other times its chinese or something else.

Once we finished our order of a large pepperoni, we started on our baking. First we tied little Deli's hair back and pulled her sleeves up. I pulled my hair back and so did Rose. We didn't want to get food everywhere and especially with Deli helping us it was about to get messy.

Twenty minutes later we had a cake in the oven and a couple batches of cookies ready to go in the oven when we heard the doorbell ring.

"I've got it Rose."

Walking to the door I pulled out a twenty Rose had given me and prepared to pay the pizza deliverer. Opening the door I was greeted with a brightly smiling young man maybe around twenty-three.

"Evening Ma'am here's your pizza."

"Thank you" I grabbed the pizza and handing him the money.

He grabbed my change and handed it to me writing something on the receipt and handing my the change. Instead of dropping it in my hand he purposly grabbed my hand holding the palm open and slowly putting the change in my palm. I just quirked my eyebrow at him slightly confused 'okay that was weird'.

He winked and then headed out, without even waiting for the tip. I turned around with a smirking Rose in the hallway looking at me.

"That boy was flirting with you Alex" She smiled with a mischevious look

"Oh please" I scoffed putting the change and receipt on the counter

Grabbing some plates from the pantry I heard Rose laughing from behind me.

"Oh, is that why he wrote his number on the receipt with a note saying 'My tip could be a date with a beautiful woman like you.'"

My jaw dropped. What the hell is wrong with that kid. I just shook my head and continued pulling out plates and glasses.

"Alex you're twenty-one, you should be going out and enjoying yourself every once in a while. Maybe meet someone. I can watch like Deli for you."

I just laughed appreciating this kind woman.

"I don't need anyone but my little girl and you Rose. My life is perfect the way it is." I smiled hugging her

She just huffed and helped me fill the plates. I don't think that's the answer she wanted. I really don't need anyone else though. Deli was my whole world and Rose I would do anything for. Eating our food and taking out the cake/ throwing in the cookies we enojoyed the evening. We even docrated the cake nicely with chocolate and vanilla icing. By eight Delilah was out and me and sleeping on the couch. Rose and I were cleaning up.

'I'll come over tomorrow night and help clean since it's been a few days since we've done any of it."

"Don't worry about it alex I know you've got a lot on your plate."

I laughed and was engulfed in a comfortable silence with Rose. Around nine I grabbed Deli and headed for our room to get some sleep. I changed her into her pajamas and then slipped her under the covers. I jumped in the shower and pulled on my pajama bottoms and a cami. Crawling into bed I snuggled in with my little Deli and fell asleep.

        *Bring* *Bring* *Bring*

Waking up I muttered a few quiet choice words before lightly shaking Deli up to get ready. Today was friday which is pancake morning, so Deli was up and ready within a matter of minutes.

"Momma momma, I want Chwocalate Pancakes this mworning."

I laughed

"Alright honey but we don't have the right ingredients for chocalate pancakes, we can make chocolate chip though."

"yay yay yay" She was bouncing up and down and running towards the kitchen.

After the pancakes were devoured and the plates were put in the sink I got dressed and headed out the door to drop Deli off at daycare. Deli chatted the whole way there talking about this and that and even asking if we could go to the park on the way home. I sighed I guess I could leave work a little bit early and take her to the park. I put in a couple extra hours last weekend and usually Frank is pretty flexible with my hours.

"Sure Deli, i'll pick you up from daycare early and we can go to the park."

She smiled at me with the toothiest grin and hugged my legs.

"Thank you mwomma"

I laughed and picked her up carrying her the last couple minutes.

The diner today wasn't too busy just a few people lingered after the lunch rush. Around five I put my book away and decided I should ask Frank now.

"Hey Frank do you mind if I head out a little early today? I promised Delilah I would take her to the park today."

"Sure no problem Alex, When are you going to bring that little munchkin back here?"

I chuckled Frank was so good to Delilah last time he saw her he gave her an ice cream shake for free.

"I'll make sure to bring her by soon."

I left the diner and headed towards Deli's school to pick her up. Once I picked up we headed towards the park about a block away. The park here is beautiful. The trees were green and lush, the pond was clear and full of little fishes, the swings were clean and the jungle gym was well kept. I pushed her on the swings and chased her on the jungle gym for about an hour.

"Alright Deli, it's time to head home."

"Aww Mwomma." She gave me her puppy dog eyes.

"nuh uh little one those won't work on my.

She jumped into my arms and we headed towards home.

I put deli down after a few minutes and grabbed her hand. We were lucky enough to make all the crosswalks until about half way home. We barely missed it and it was one of the busiest streets in town. As always people were lightly shoving eachother in impatience for the crosswalk light to change. Someone me square in the back of the shoulders harder than usualy and it caused me to loose my balance and fall off the curb into traffic. It all went so fast, when I felt myself trip off the curb I knew I was about to fall into oncoming taffic so I let go Delilah's hand, I couldn't pull her with me. The last thing I saw was a the front of a sleek black bently.
