Are they a shoulder to cry on
When everyone is against you?
Will they always be by my side?
The world thinks I am weird because
I want to know what a friend is.
Is it my fault that I wish for
A non-biological sibling?
I heard stories of people who
Ended up with toxic companions.
I want to know what a friend is
So I won't become like them.
I talk to people a lot, but
I never felt that connection
Of security or kindness.
