The girl absent mindedly ran her slender fingers along his soft golden hair delighting the prince. He greatly craved her affection and gentle love more than anything else in the world and their current position is one of the most precious moments in his whole life.

Aurelius opened his eyes in curiosity when he heard Ruby sigh contentedly. He looked up her face with a dreamy look while she clutch the romance book tightly in her chest.

"Uhhmm... What's the matter? Why do you look like you're in cloud nine? Is it because you finally realized that we're meant to be and that this is really romantic?" Aurelius asked expectantly with a beaming smile.

"What? Gods no! I just finished reading this book called The Little Mermaid, the one with the actual happy ending and not the one where she turned into sea foam then died. It's just romantic how she met a dashing prince, survived a witch's curse and then had a happy ending by marrying the love of her life. What would I give to finally find my prince charming, dance in the moon light, and finally have a happy ending since you know... getting eaten by the wolf one way or another is kind of annoying." Ruby explained dreamily as she imagined romantic scenes in her head.

"Are you seriously hearing yourself? I'm literally a 'dashing' prince laying on your lap ready to give you all my love and yet you still wait for some fantasy guy that will never come. Come on, Rubabe love me already." Aurelius complained as he lifted himself from her lap and sat straight in front of her.

"No, no, no. You won't do at all. You're cute but you're not really that tall which means that we'll only produce short children as well. Besides, you're my best friend I don't want to lose you in the complex ways of love." Ruby reasoned with a calm smile casually brushing his statement. Her words broke his heart as she crossed him out of her heart.

"But I'm not done growing yet I can still get taller. You'll see. I'll drink lots of milk and I promise I'll be your friend no matter what, boyfriend, husband, and even... Ex." he reasoned with desperation in his amethyst eyes.

"You're not really my type, Rel. I mean you do have adorable boyish charms but I think I want a man now, preferably someone tall, strong, and handsome like Alucard or Granger. I'm sure you'll find someone else." Ruby added with a joyful tone quite contrary to his heart breaking state.

"Ruby can't we be more than friends?"

"You mean best friends? Of course!" Ruby agreed cluelessly.

"More than that."

"Oh getting ambitious, aren't we? Fine let's be MEGA best friends!"

"H-higher?"

"You want to be siblings? That's fine too! I want to be you're older sister call me onee-san Ruby! Isn't that cute?" Ruby said with a beaming innocent smile.

"But Ruby I..." Tears were about to fall from his eyes but the gentle hand that cupped his cheek prevented the tear from slipping away.

"Just kidding." Ruby whispered as she smiled at him sweetly.

"What?" he asked in astonishment.

"I love you, Aurelius." Ruby declared as she closed the gap between their lips and kissed him passionately. Aurelius was stupefied in shock due to her unexpected confession but he soon regained his composure however the kiss had already ended disappointing him.

"Can you please say that again? I don't think I heard it correctly."

"I love you." Ruby repeated as she chuckled at his antics.

"More." he demanded still flabbergasted due to the whole incident. The kiss and Ruby's confession feel so surreal, it's hardly believable but one thing is for sure... The loud beating of his heart is the real deal.

Aurelius froze as he watched Ruby smile at him lovingly.

"J'taime, ich liebe dich, tiamo, ashiteru... I love you Aurelius. Dyrroth. Whoever you are purple or white, I love you. Tall or short, weak or strong, ugly or handsome... I love you." Aurelius couldn't contain himself any longer as he pounced on her, crashing his lips against her soft pink ones and ravishing her out in the public.

"Woaaaah! Ruby and the prince looks so romantic! They're kissing affectionately. I wish someone would kiss me like that when I grow up." Eli mused as she passed by the path with Jawhead and X-borg.

"Eli close your eyes and keep walking." the cyborg said as he pushed the little girl further from the sight.

"I love you. I love you! I love you! You're my goddess!! You're my world! I love you Ruby!!" Aurelius exclaimed in exaltation as he hugged her affectionately. No one can be more happy than him right now as he received Ruby's love and adoration. He kissed her lips and hugged her small body closer to his own as they lay in the grass, basking in all the blessing of summer, light and the sun as they officially become a couple.
