GETTING UNDER MAXIMILIAN

Chapter Twenty Three

Principal Henshaw didn't believe Max until the door to his office opened and a distraught Zion Vanderwoodsen rushed into his office followed by his wife whose eyes were puffy from crying so much and she broke down again when she saw her children safe and bruises free.

"Mummy! Daddy!". The quads cried and rushed to hug them both.

"Oh my babies". Addy breathed in relief raining kisses on their faces. You're fine,thank God!I was so scared!".

"We're fine Momma. Vicky smiled. Britt saved us. She grinned at her brother.

"Yes Britt is our hero. Esme agreed. Like Superman."

Britt blushed embarrassed and he shook his head. "It was nothing. He told them. Max is actually the one we should be thanking."

"Why?". Zion sounded surprised and confused.

"Well..he'd be in trouble but he let us watch spy kids on his laptop last week and I decided to try it out. He shrugged and shuddered at the same time. I think I peed my pants when they told us our school was under attack. I wouldn't have known what to do."

"Yeah..he's in trouble alright. Zion said glaring at Max playfully. He looked at the principal then. Thank you very much sir. I'm really grateful."

Henshaw waved it away. "I didn't do anything. Your children are very smart unlike some kids I know. I only did my job."

Addy sniffled and smiled down at the kids. "Let's go home guys. Your school closed down for two weeks so you'll all stay home till school reopens."

"Yay!!". They chorused excitedly and high fived each other.

"Typical." Zion snorted.

As the quads turned to go with Addy,they turned to look at Max with a frown wondering why he stood there.

"You coming Max?. Zion jnr inquired.

"I still have school guys. He waved. I'll see you at home."

"Kay Kay." They said and waved then followed Addy out.

Max followed Zion out of the office and from the corner of his eyes saw Amaliah in hiding and he winked at her before facing his father.

"From now on Max,you'll have bodyguards. Do you understand?". Zion stared pointedly at him.

"Why?". Max almost whined.

"I don't have to tell you why, you know why." Zion replied.

Max frowned. "Kernan and Kel are fine. He grumbled.

"They're Addy's bodyguards. Zion reminded him. I'll hire new ones for you. The bell rang for whatever and Zion checked his wrist watch. We'll talk later when you get home."

"Going back to work?".

"Nah. Zion shook his head. He tilted his head to look at Max then over his shoulder and he waved which made Max frown and turn. Amaliah had not moved an inch from where she was. So that's Amaliah." He wiggled his brows at Max. She's pretty."

Max scoffed. "Fucking beautiful if you ask me." He muttered.

"Someone's crushing." Zion teased.

Max scowled at his father then turned him around towards the exit. "They're waiting for you."

Zion sighed. "Fine. He glared at Max. And just for the record I let you turn me around."

"Yeah sure. Nice way to say I'm stronger than you." Max mocked him.

Zion grabbed Max in a head lock which made Max groan as he rubbed his knuckles on his head before releasing him.

"I'll kick your ass soon." Max growled at him.

Zion laughed and walked away.

"If I didn't know better- if anyone didn't know better,I'd say you and your father are twins. Amaliah said walking up to Max. The same height,lean muscle and all,Adonis.."Her voice trailed off.

"He's actually two inches taller than I am. Max corrected. And he's stronger than he looks."

"That's good to know. Amaliah smiled. You don't sound happy about that." She studied his face.

"You saw what he did right?".

"Yeah."

"That's because he's taller than me and faster but I've promised to beat him soon. Max said looking dead serious about it. I must."

"Er..I'll pay to watch that." Amaliah beamed. I'm glad your siblings are okay though.

"You heard the news too?".

"Yeah in class. You're not going with them?".

"Why should I?". He looked confused.

Amaliah shrugged.

"And leave you all alone?. Max smirked. Of course not. Let's go eat,I'm starving."

"Won't you change first? although..I like you this way." She said in a sultry voice.

"Too bad. Max said. I'll meet you in the cafeteria.

"Kay. She pecked him and left.

"You and Amaliah Buena Vista?". A nasty voice asked from behind Max in disgust.

Max groaned and turned to look at Callista. "Yeah So?". He asked brusquely.

"So you are. Callie stated with a confused frown. But the two of you don't fit. Just take a look at me." She gestured to herself.

Max eyed her over looking bored. Sorry you're not my type Calli. Your face and makeup don't fit either so why don't you stay away from it?."

Callie gasped in shock.

"Excuse me. Max sent her a smug satisfied smile and walked away.

Max went back to the locker room and quickly changed his clothes and was about to button up his school shirt when he felt arms wrap around him and he jumped then turned to glare at the person. It was of course Katia Lawrence.

"Katia?. He looked around the locker room but they were the only ones there. Thank God. He stared at her. What are you doing here?". He bit out angrily.

"I came to see you. Katia smiled. You don't look happy to see me."

"Of course captain obvious. Max snapped. What are you doing here?".

"I saw you talking to Callista. What were you two talking about?".

"How should I know?get out of here before someone catches us. Max quickly buttoned up.

Katia sighed in frustration. "Is it true you're dating Amaliah?". She spat out Amaliah's name.

"What if I am?what's it to ya?".

"I'm just shocked is all. Katia said. She's not beautiful or well endowed like I am. She turned 360 for him to see. She's got only the brains going for her that's all".

"Oh well I prefer her to airheads like you. Max told her with a sardonic smile. No offence meant. He took out his suit jacket and shrugged it on. He closed the locker door and faced Katia. And in my book which is a very special one, Amaliah's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Excuse me. He left.
