Don't Blame Yourself

Start from the beginning

I let out a sigh as I saw Shoto continue try to fight off our teacher, realizing what his plan was.

"What is it, Sakura-chan?" Izuku questioned, probably hearing the disappointment in my sigh.

"It's their plan," I muttered, shaking my head. "It seems like Shoto is taking all the heavy lifting to himself by trying to distract Aizawa so Momo could find the gate and win," I explained, slightly disappointed at the pair. "But it's too simple and Aizawa probably expected this from the beginning and is going to try to take Shoto down first, since he's the offense."

"And it seems like Shoto had come up with this plan, himself, knowing how his thought processing works. Yes, it was a plan but it was too rushed and from observing their previous conversation, it looked like he didn't even consult it with his partner. He was probably trying to make it easier for Momo by putting all the pressure of this exam on himself, but all it's done is kill her confidence even more.

"Kill her confidence....." Izuku muttered, his green eyes widening at the screen, probably now understanding the situation.

"Mhm," I hummed, still watching how easily Aizawa was evading Shoto's attacks.

"I noticed how disinclined and unsure Momo has been of herself since the Sports Festival," I continued. "She's lost a lot of self confidence and has probably been beating herself up about it since she's one of the recommended students. And she's also probably been comparing herself to Shoto and was too afraid to talk back against his plan, thinking he was the better student."

"But Momo is a smart girl. She definitely has a plan, but she's just too afraid to speak out. Even though her plan is probably better than..." My voice trailed off when I saw Aizawa wrap his bindings securely around Shoto, pulling him off the ground and hanging him from a series of power lines.

"Well, that," I muttered, displeased at my bi-colored hair friend for his idiotic plan. What is he even thinking? I raised a brow when I saw Aizawa scatter small, shiny spikes underneath Shoto's swinging body.

'What the hell, Aizawa? Are you trying to be a ninja or something?'

"So...." Ochaco mumbled, her cheery tone diminished, being replaced with a worried one. "How do you think this exam will turn out for them, after all that?"

I kept my gaze on the screen, watching Momo run away from Aizawa with a panic-stricken face.

I sighed in defeat, shrugging my shoulders. "Their result of this exam will be up to Momo. If she doesn't step up and realize that she is capable of putting her own plan into action soon, then this exam is as good as over."

I narrowed my eyes when I saw Aizawa wrap Momo's arm with his cloth, causing her to even panic more. But, she had created something from her wrist, escaping from his grasp. 'She just created something... But isn't he using his quirk?'

My eyes then widened when I saw the raven-haired girl run the opposite way she was heading towards. She was running back to Shoto.

"She's going back?" Ochaco gasped, also surprised from what our Vice Class Rep's sudden decision.

I watched her run towards back to the hanging boy and they exchanged another conversation. But this time it seemed like Shoto was trying to get through to her, his heterochromatic eyes looking straight at her. I saw Momo's face light up with a different expression I haven't seen before. Whatever Shoto had said to her, must have helped bring back a smidge of confidence.

"It looks like he's finally listening to her," I stated as I let out a breath of relief.

After blinding Aizawa with her Russian doll flash grenades- making me wince from thinking how painful that must have been- Momo quickly lowered Shoto and then they both took off running. They took advantage of Aizawa's need to rest longer due to the severe injuries from back at USJ.
