(Present Day)

Pacing from one side to the other of the room was a nervous Y/N.

The girl had enough of waiting inside her room and decided she would come into the building and see the results for herself.

Having just graduated from college with a degree in Art and Design, she was ready to take over the world. Unfortunatelly, luck had not been on her side this last year, and she had applied to every job she could find that mathched her expectations.

Today was her last chance. A magazine she applied to weeks ago was finally releasing an official list with the 5 chosen newbies who would join them at the end of this month.

There she was, the last bit of hope in her eyes and incredibly impatient.

"First job?" A voice was heard behind her and she jumped, scared, before quickly turning around, coming face to face with a tall guy, who was smilling down at her.

"Yeah, I just graduated." She answered and the boy nodded his head.

"Good luck. Name's Yoonjyun, Jeon Yoonjyun." He bowed to her and somehow his smile got bigger.

Y/N had to blink a couple times before introducing herself, blinded by the brightest smile she had seen in a long time.

"You smile too much." She said out loud, making the boy raised his eyebrows in shock. "Sorry. I'm Kang Y/N" She bowed back a few times, apoligising for her behaviour.

She heard a chuckle and looked back at him, just to see him smiling again.

"No worries. I've been told I'm too positive sometimes, but I don't think that's a bad thing, do you?" He asked and she tilted her head to the side.

"Well... I believe it's okay to be positive, just... I tend to expect the worst more often than I do the best" Was her answer and Yoonjyun nodded his head, a more calm expression now on his face.

"You prefer to protect yourself. I respect that." He sent her a small smile and she smiled back, turning back around to face the wall were the list would be hanging in just a few minutes.

"I'm sure I got the job" She heard the same voice again but this time she didn't bother turning around.

"It would be quite funny if you didn't. Your face would be priceless" she said and let out a small giggle, making the boy frown.

"You don't think I'll make it?" He asked and Y/N turned back to him.

"I don't know you, so I couldn't say." She shrugged and he frowned deeper than before. "I was only joking" she rolled her eyes and the boy beamed at her again.

"Aigoo you're funny" he patted her head and she walked away from him, trying to stop him from talking to her again.

I mean, he wasn't a bad guy but she just found him a bit annoying at the moment.

Mostly when her own confidence was falling and he had so much of it. It bothered her. Don't ask why.

A few minutes later, most of the people had already left. Heads down and tears falling. But Y/N was still there, mouth open and staring at the paper with her name written on it.

She made it. She got the job. Her dream was finally becoming a reality.

"We made it!" Her shoulders were suddenly shaken by a very excited Yoonjyun, but Y/N was so happy at the moment that she didn't even care anymore.

"I can't believe it..." the girl whispered and a smile slowly appeared on her face.

She was so happy that she couldn't contain it and the only think she could do at that moment was to hug the first person she reached.

The lucky ln this time was non other than Yoonjyun.

Not far away from there, another girl was in the middle of a dance practice.

Being an idol doesn't give you much free time, and that was something Kim Chungha knew very well.

She had been an idol for 5 years now and she still couldn't believe it.

She still remembers the words from the first doctor who attended her many years ago and who told her she would most likely never walk or dance again.

Well... she did walk and she definetely could still dance.

To be honest, right now she could not think of anything she likes more than dancing, and she would be living a misserable life if her doctor would've been right.

Lucky her, she didn't have to go through that.

"Okay guys take five!" Chungha said walking towards her manager who called her over to talk.

"Again?" The girl walked closer to her manager and she smile apologetically, handing her a piece of paper to sign.

It was the third time today her manager brought her the contracts for her new dancers and she didn't want to be interrupted anymore because of this when she could simply do it later.

"Unnie I love you, but if you bring me one more of these I'll have to fire you." She said serious just to see her manager's smile fade and panic take over her in a matter of seconds.

Chungha let out a laugh and hit her manager's arm playfully.

"Oh my god I'm teasing you!" She laughed louder, making the dancers look at both of them while smiling at the interaction. "Omo, you're so funny unnie" she added and stopped to catch her breath.

Her manager ran out of the room embarrassed after getting everyone's attention and Chungha smiled, letting out a quiet sigh.

Damn was she tired. She couldn't wait to go back home and just sleep for years.

Hah, I wish. She thought.

The most she had slept this last week was two hours in a row. Insomnia taking over her sleep and not letting her get more than a couple of hours every night.

Still her attitude and her bright smile were always there, never letting anyone know the struggles she was going through.

How she would like someone to talk about these things with.. but she didn't want to burden anyone with her problems.

Everybody has their own problems and they have enough with that. They don't need her problems to be added to those. Or so she thinks.

"Okay guys let's go back to work" she clapped her hands twice and eveyone gathered around her, resuming their previous positions and going over the dance one more time.

This is where she belongs. And no insomnia or any other thing was going to make her walk away from it.

Two girls that didn't know it yet, but were getting closer and closer to meet again.

They didn't know it yet, but their lifes were about to change completely.

For the better or for the worse? They won't even see it coming.

Andddd that makes it for the first chapter!

Thoughts anyone?

I hope you liked it.

Alsooo, in the prologue for some reason I wrote 2006 but it was actually 2009.

Both Y/N and Chungha were born in 1996 in this story too so yeah, change the date to three years later so the fact that they were 13 there will make more sense.

Anyway thanks for reading and see you soon with more 🖤
