Promise to me that we'll be together forever, okay?
She forced her lips into a smile. Those were words spoken minutes before she let go. The words spoken minutes before she released me out of her life.
What was the mistake that I did?
What is it about me that made them leave?
Is there something wrong with me?
Am I that cursed?
Promises are meant to be broken after all. People come and go always. There would be people you're going to meet, and there would be people who would leave you.
And that's why you should never be attached.
And that's why you should never fall in love.
Love is atrocious. All it ever does is just break people's hearts, and break people's lives. Happy endings only exist in those petty fairy tales in children's books. Happy endings never happen in real life. And yet still, people give themselves more chances no matter how shattered they'd get; and yet still, people never give up even though they are treated like garbage; And yet still, people are trying their best to find their own happy endings.
This is relatively very easy to say if you are bitter enough.
But I tell you, there will be a time soon that you would stop saying these words. There will be a time where in the clock would stop ticking, and in that moment, the world around you becomes better and colorful.
And then, you would see everything in a brighter point of view, and you would be happier, and be able to laugh like there is no problem at all, like there is no suffering, like there is no despair, no pain.
Except for the fact that I am not people.
Promise to me that we'll be together forever, okay?
Those were the words that I don't want to hear ever again.
