Who was I kidding? 45 minutes passed in a blur as I read the same sentence over and over again. The thought of him was haunting me. The staff had to tap on my shoulder to bring me back to reality. I realized the main lighting was already off.

I apologised several times for hindering his work but he said that it was not the first time someone zone out. I gave him an apologetic smile before exiting the cafe. I was wandering mindlessly again but an uneasy feeling washed over me, like I was being followed.

I tried to not obviously look back and saw a suspicious guy in blue shirt and black cap walking slowly with his head down. To clarify my assumption, I turned a few corners with fasten steps and checked if he was still following. Terrified was an understatement when I found him only a couple of feets away.

Shit how can he be strangely close if he's walking on that snail speed just now?!

There was no one around that I could seek help from. Thank god my unheeding self didn't end up in an alleyway with this freak following me. I racked up my mind to find a way to save myself. What the heck should I do in this situation?!

I've read this scene somewhere in fanfic. What did y/n do? To the convenience store!

All those fanfic reading paid off. Since I'm way too accustomed to this neighborhood, I quickly navigate my way to the convenience store down the street. I immediately went in and was greeted with two pairs of familiar eyes at the counter.

"Y/N, why do you look pale?" Harin and Yeo Hwanwoong seonsaengnim simultaneously asked. Without thinking, I did what my body think was best.

"자기야, (darling,) didn't know I would encounter with you here!" I said in a girly tone that made Harin cringe behind the counter.

I clung to Yeo seonsaengnim's arm and earned a confused face in return. I swear I don't know what possessed me at that time. I showed him a pleading face while I scolded myself inside, before putting on a fake smile again.

"There's a pervert following me," I whispered while maintaining a smile and motioned outside with my eyes.

Both of them glanced outside and saw the suspicious guy sitting on one of the chairs provided by the store. I pretended to look around and got the glimpse of him. He was holding his phone in front of him but he was clearly looking at me.

Surprisingly, Yeo seonsaengnim grinned lovingly while lowering my hand down his arm and into his hand. His hand felt warm against my ice cold one. My heart skipped a beat at his action although it was just an act for the sake of saving me.

"Cupcake, you shouldn't be out at this hour. It's dangerous," he said then patted my head softly.

My smile faltered for a split second before nodding enthusiastically. He removed his hand to pay for the juice and bread that was abandoned on the counter earlier. Harin gave me an encouraging smile while scanning the barcode. I face outside and caught that guy removing his eyes from me.

"He's still here," I said under my breath and my troubled eyes found Yeo seonsaengnim's calm ones.

He held his food with his left hand and smoothly side hugged me. I stiffened at the sudden contact. His head leaned closer to my ear and I felt the hair on my neck standing in caution. When he was at a good distance, he asked me an unexpected question.

"Do we have to take left or right to get to your house?" His voice was low that even the hair on my arms marched up.

"R-right," why did I even stutter?

He simply nod before bidding Harin a goodbye and led me out the door, still not removing his arm. I resisted the urge to pay attention to the suspicious guy as we passed by him. After a few meters, I motioned to the left with my right hand. My left side that was occasionally brushing against him felt tingly.
