Chapter 175: Remember to Go to PE

Start from the beginning

“An, coming home for dinner tonight?” This one was from Chen Yang.

Chen An looked up at Wang Li, who was working with the other students. He thought for a second and sent Chen Yang a reply: we are going out tonight.

As it turned out, when they finally put all the facilities in place, Wang Li nearly collapsed onto the ground from exhaustion. She probably did not have the strength to eat her own dinner, not to mention cook dinner for Chen An.

“All right, everyone, you’ve done a good job. I’ll see you next time.”

Chen An waved goodbye to the students and jumped onto his bicycle, leaving the exhausted students in the gym.

“This won’t do. We need to talk to someone about this!” As soon as Chen An was gone, some angry students announced.

Wang Li said in a small voice: “I think this Mr. Chen may be a tough nut. Maybe…we should leave it. Actually, as long as we don’t cross him, he’s okay.”

“Does he look like he’s okay? What he did is called abuse! We must tell the university about this horrible teacher!” a boy said indignantly.

A girl echoed: “yeah, he doesn’t exactly look like a scoundrel. Who knows he can be so terrifying? That being said, the new facilities look expensive. Since when had our school started spending big money on fitness equipment?”

Girls did pay more attention to details, Wang Li thought to herself. It must be Chen An who bought these facilities; there was no way the university could spend money on these. She even suspected Chen An paid for this teaching position.

“Let’s go. We will talk to the faculty!”

The students quickly acted on their words. After Chen An left and they rested for a bit, they hurried towards the administrative building. Their anger seemed to have given them new strength: a moment ago they were knackered, and now they were marching in high spirits.

Wang Li shook her head. She did not think a handful of students could throw Chen An out of the university.

But why was Chen An here in the first place? Wang Li sat on the ground with her hand supporting her chin and thought hard. She finally came to a conclusion: Chen An was bored.

When the tall boy and the nerd finished running, they came back too. The nerd was pale in face; he would have collapsed earlier if Chen An was not watching them.

“You okay? Let me carry you on my back.” The tall boy was apparently much stronger. He even had some remaining strength to carry the nerd, who did not have energy to speak at this point.

Wang Li rushed over to help. She was also concerned about Chen Yang. She did not believe Chen An would tell Chen Yang about what happened today; she had a premonition that next class, Uncle Chen would set an example with Chen Yang.

“An, is that all you are eating today?” handing the menu back to the waiter, Chen Yang asked the man sitting across him.

Usually Chen An did not go without meat in each meal, but today he only ordered a small portion of low-calorie fish.

“Are you feeling unwell?” Chen Yang asked in concern.

“I’m feeling great, thank you very much.” Chen An took a sip of water and rubbed on his abdomen. Then he asked Chen Yang, “Do you think I’m getting fat recently?”

“Are you?” with his elbow supported on the table, Chen Yang looked closely at Chen An: there was a bit more flesh on his cheek, but for a man Chen An’s age, he was getting along quite well.

Chen Yang smiled: “I don’t think so. You look just right. In fact, I would say you look even cuter now that you put on a little bit of weight.”

As soon as he said it, he got a kick from Chen An under the table, “stop using such horrible words to describe me. Have some respect for your elders!”

“Won’t happen again.” Chen Yang immediately put up his hands.

“As for you, don’t just think about company business. You also need to attend your classes.” The Old Fox reminded.

“Yes, I know.” Chen Yang did not notice anything unusual, so he answered quickly as always.

“Really?” Chen An squinted at Chen Yang as a cunning look flashed across his phoenix eyes, “but your new PE teacher told me that you’ve been skipping classes since the beginning of the term.”

“My PE teacher talked to you?” Chen Yang looked up. In fact, he did not even know the name of his teacher, but how did this teacher get in touch with Chen An?

Chen Yang did not think there was anything to worry about concerning school. Even if he did not appear the whole semester, he could manage to get good scores. So attendance didn’t really matter as long he established a good relationship with his department.

As for PE, Chen Yang said without giving it further thought: “what’s the matter with this teacher? Why was he talking to you? An, if he calls you again, don’t answer. Or just block his number. Trust me, I can handle things at the university. I’m not letting things slide.”

“But from what I heard, the new PE teacher is kind of a tough nut to crack. He doesn’t answer to anyone in the university. Even if you get along with your department, he won’t let you pass if you don’t show up.”

Before Chen Yang could answer, Chen An patted the back of his hand, and went on: “you are still a student, so don’t be too tied up with work. I wish I were a student like you, having a carefree time in university.”

“Sometimes, I wonder if I was right to bring you into all this, to let you see the dark side of the world. Whether it was a selfish decision, that I actually destroyed the peaceful life you had.”

“That’s not true!” Chen Yang explained hurriedly, “An, I never regret meeting you. If it wasn’t for you, I would have none of the things I have today. That would be my greatest regret!”

“All-right, no need to get agitated.”

Well, well, young man was indeed susceptible to strong emotions.

Chen An smiled warmly: “what I’m saying is, you’re still young. You have plenty of time to go to places, to strive for what you want. But your time as a student is quite limited.”

“Yes, I know.” Chen An nodded meekly.

“So remember to go to PE.” Patting the back of Chen Yang’s hand, Chen An again urged, “make sure you go.”
