obviously i do think that sacking long-bailey for sharing that anti-semitic article was the right move on starmers part, especially considering labours history of harbouring anti-semites
but i dont believe that he did it out of the goodness of his heart and a genuine desire to combat anti-semitism in his party. it was more of a pr move if anything else
if he actually cared about making his party a safe space for minorities then he would have kicked out all those centrist labour mps who were caught engaging in antiblack racism towards black labour mps like dawn butler and diane abbott. but he didnt. its been like two months since that report showing labours institutional racism came out. and starmer has still not done shit
i dont think he actually cares about jewish ppl (or any minority group) feeling safe within the labour party he just wants to generate good press AND have an excuse to dispose of old political rivals
