Hi. I am Ash Ketchum, a 10-year-old boy from Pallet Town. Kids from the age of 10 can become Pokémon trainers by undergoing a process of getting a starter from respective professors of each region. Right now, there are 8 regions discovered by scientists: The Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar regions. Pallet Town is located in Kanto, so I can get a Pokémon from Professor Oak. Luckily, his laboratory is located near my house so I am making sure of waking up really early to get a Pokémon from him as early as possible. After thinking it through, I decided that Bulbasaur is my best choice as it can basically cover up the first two gyms and Electric types don't deal as much damage against Grass types. I will be writing again here after I become what I dream most of all: becoming a Pokémon Master. It might take me a long time, but I promise to remember this entry (possibly the last if even)when I come back holding all eight trophies. Until then, my diary, that's what he wrote before sleeping. He set up his clock, but he was so sleepy that he might have cranked it up just a little bit more than what he was planning. Instead of setting the alarm to 6 in the morning, he set it up to 5 at daybreak. He finally went to his bed at 10 p.m, being fast asleep right his body touched the matress. 7 hours later, he got awaken by the alarm, but did not care to look at what time it was and since he packed his bag yesterday, all he had to do is to take a bath and tiptoe to the doorstep. Since his mother is asleep with Mimey the Mr. Mime, he took a bath and quickly got dressed and tiptoed to the door. Luckily, he packed a bottle of oil and squirted some on the hinges to ensure of no sound being created. He was able to pull the plan off, so he closed the door quietly. With a little whisper of good job, he ran straight to the laboratory and knocked at the door until someone picked up. Coincidentially, Professor Oak opened the door and was shocked to see a 10-year-old standing in front of his household and lab waiting to get a starter of his own. "What do you know, a 10-year-old child is here to pick up a starter. Before I went to Goldenrod for the infomercial, I encountered a male Pikachu, and I caught it at full health using a prototype of special Poké Balls. I thought to myself that whoever comes to get his starter first gets to only get the Pikachu. I studied its DNA, and it's nothing like I've ever seen before. I know you must want to get your Bulbasaur, but I can give you this Pikachu instead, but don't tell anybody that I gave you this early on. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to give you these. Five Poké Balls and a Pokédex is enough to start off, and you can get more Pokécoins by defeating other trainers waiting for a fight with you future generation children," he told him. "Ok, I promise to give Pikachu proper care he needs to grow up big and strong,"Ash told Prof. Oak. He handed him over the Poké Ball. He greeted the professor a thank you and continued his adventure. By the time he got his starter, Ash saw the bright sunshine slapping his face. He threw the ball, and a Pikachu shocked him with a Thunderbolt. He really must have thought that he had some precaution with handling the Pokémon. But he did not mind anyway as he's hyped to have his own Pikachu and immediately started the journey. He started to walk on the tall grass and saw lots of Pidgey and Rattata roaming around and Ash aimed for the Pidgey first since he studied hard for this. "Pikachu, use Thundershock on Pidgey,"Ash told Pikachu and he happily followed as he knows that he can have a friend to talk to whilst accompanying his trainer to catch new friends along the way and make their way to the top as champions. Ash threw a Poké Ball at the Pidgey. After the ball shaked 3 times, he successfully caught his first Pokémon and registered his new catch to Dexter, which is the name of his Pokédex. He looked for some more in the tall grass, and he found a Rattata running wildly and without hesitation, he asked Pikachu to use Thunderbolt on the mouse. Once again, it is his chance to catch it but when Ash was about to get a new Poké Ball, the Rattata ran away from him and since he was really determined to complete the Pokédex, Ash tried to chase it but Pikachu paralyzed him. Pikachu told him that it was alright to fail his catch, as there are more monsters awaiting for them to be caught or befriended.
