ARC 13 : GHOST ASSISTANT

Start from the beginning

Shang Ke looked towards the source of commotion only to see a middle-aged man collapsed onto the floor while clutching his chest, seemingly in great pain. A mother and son were kneeling down beside him, anxiously groping for something on him.

“Medicine, where’s your medicine?”

The man was gasping for air and couldn’t speak at all.

Shang Ke and Shao Feidu saw that his soul was already halfway out of his body. By the time the emergency medical technicians arrived, he had already passed away. They were unable to bring the person back to life despite a long time of hard work.

This newly deceased person clearly fulfills the requirements for Shang Ke’s revival. However, Shang Ke wasn’t willing to use his body to revive. That person has a wife, a child and a family. Shang Ke couldn’t bear this responsibility. He doesn’t know how much he would hurt this mother and son if he does so.

The second chance of revival was given up by him just like this.

“Let’s go home. We will go to the hospital tomorrow.” Shang Ke cheered up very quickly. There was still two month plus until the time limit of three months. There’s no need to rush.

There are two reasons for going to the hospital tomorrow. First, it was for checking up on Shao Feidu’s fingers and his mental condition. Second, it was for Shang Ke to find a body that meets the requirements.

Shao Feidu’s fingers were injured by the piano fallboard two years ago. Based on the rehabilitation records, his injury should have completely healed. However, he was no longer able to play a song completely for some reason.

The next day, Shao Feidu sat in the “driverless” sports car again and arrived at the hospital. He went straight up to the VIP clinic on the fifth floor and met with the doctor they made an appointment with.

The hospital is a place where ghosts gather. If it was in the past, Shao Feidu wouldn’t come here even if he brought an army with him, not to mention coming here alone.

Now that he had Shang Ke by his side, he felt that those ghosts aren’t so scary anymore. At least they never threw their heads around…

Shang Ke had made an appointment with a quite well-known old doctor for Shao Feidu.

After Shao Feidu sat down, he passed over the chip prepared in advance by Shang Ke to the old doctor. The chip has detailed records of Shao Feidu’s condition, daily life and recovery progress. Although it only has ten days of record, there were dozens of pages. It included how often Shao Feidu spoke, how he constructed his sentence, all his subtle natural reaction and movement changes, the food he ate everyday and the quantity, his exercising pattern, habits and sleeping quality etc. All major and minor details were included.

The old doctor was quite shocked after reading it. Just how much patience and care is needed to note down all these in such detail? Based on this record, the doctor was able to make an initial diagnosis for Shao Feidu’s illness very quickly.

Shang Ke nodded his head in satisfaction after observing for a while by the side. Not only was this old doctor experienced, his attitude was gentle. He wasn’t discriminative or disgusted when facing Shao Feidu’s coldness.

He left Shao Feidu with the old doctor temporarily. After saying a few sentences, Shang Ke went out to look for a body.

He couldn’t find someone at the end of his life nor could he find a body that is seriously wounded and cannot be saved. He had to make sure that the body was functioning normally before its death. It is preferable that the death time hasn’t exceeded 1 hour and the person isn’t tied down by his family.
