"Immediately hire people to conduct physical examinations of the covenantors at the distribution center, mansion, and Yue Family." For the time being, Lu Xiufan wasn't certain if this attack was targeted at Shang Ke or at him. However, the other side had clearly used covenantors as their weapon of choice.

The order was passed along and the military captain launched the investigation. It took only a day to complete the examination of all the covenantors, though they came up empty-handed. The officer in charge of the interrogation was surprised since he'd never heard of any anti-violence pact with covenators. However, the counterattack provided them with a lot of clues.

This covenantor had previously been a spy and had an extremely good memory. He was able to describe the attacker's appearance, clothes, weapons, and more, all in meticulous detail. The attackers had originally intended to use a knockout drug, but they'd only barely approached before they were discovered by this covenantor with an investigative military background.

He'd reported this attack to the watchdogs at the distribution center that same day, but the watchdogs only pass on their reports to Shang Ke every three days unless there was an emergency, such as a covenantor actively being abused.
