"Lucky Charm!" I shout as I throw my magical yo-yo up in the air.
I watch with slight horror as my yo-yo transforms into a fishing hook with string attached to the end of the hook.
"What do you plan to do with that," Cat Noir ask.
"I'm not sure," I reply as I hold the fishing line in my hands.
I look around Hawk Moth's lair for a second before coming up with an idea.
"Cat Noir, hand me your stick," I yell.
"Here you are m'lady." Cat Noir gives one last hard smack to Mayura before handing me his weapon.
I begin to tie the fishing line around the end of the stick and watch as Mayura falls to the ground.
"Make sure she doesn't get back up to help," I yell to Cat Noir.
Cat Noir runs over to Mayura's side to make sure she can't get up and help Hawk Moth.
I wait for Hawk Moth to move closer to help Mayura before launching the fishing line at him.
The fishing hook catches on to Hawk Moths' miraculous. I give the line a little yank but Hawk Moth notices what I am attempting to do and detaches the fishing hook from his miraculous.
My eyes glance over towards Cat Noir who no longer has his eyes on Mayura, but instead is watching the fight between me and Hawk Moth.
"Ladybug, watch out!" Cat Noir screams as he runs towards me.
He pushes me to the ground and out of the way of a senti-monster that Mayura created while Cat Noir wasn't looking.
"Take care of the senti-monster. I am going to try to get Hawk Moth's miraculous," I tell Cat Noir.
I throw the fishing line behind me and cast my make shift fishing pole towards Hawk Moth one more time. The fishing hook catches on to Hawk Moths' miraculous for the second time and I make sure to pull it off him before he can detach the hook again.
I watch Hawk Moth fall to the ground as he transforms back into his normal self.
"Cataclysm!" I hear Cat Noir scream out from the right side of me.
I turn around and watch as the senti-monster turns into nothing but black dust.
"Now that that's been taken care of, let's see who Hawk Moth really is." Cat Noir struts his way over towards Hawk Moth who is now collapsed on the ground.
I hear a gasp come out of Cat Noirs' mouth as Hawk Moth slowly rises.
"Father?! No! It can't be?" Cat Noir stumbles backwards in shock.
"Adrien?! I am sorry you had to find out this way. I want you to know I was only doing this for us, for you, Adrien." Hawk Moth's voice sounds smooth and comforting, almost like the voice of a loving father.
"Why? As if it wasn't already shocking enough to learn that all this time Hawk Moth was operating right under my own home. Now I need to learn he is my own father! You don't know how bad I was hoping that you were someone else. You don't know how bad I was hoping that there wouldn't be a connection between you and Hawk Moth."
I watch as Cat Noir slowly walks over towards me. He bends down and picks up his stick from the ground and unties it from the fishing line.
"I'm so sorry m'lady, but you're going to need to finish this mission on your own," Cat Noir says as tears form in his eyes.
I watch Cat Noir run across the bridge that led to Hawk Moth's lair and extend his stick to launch him out of the room we are in.
I look back at Hawk Moth who is kneeling on the ground with his hands clutched over his heart. He looks as if he had just been stabbed in the heart. I make my way over to Mayura to retrieve her miraculous but am met with an empty spot where her body was lying only minutes ago. I quickly glance around the room but see no trace of her. I assume that by now she is long gone.
I go back to the spot where I was standing before and pick up the fishing line and hook that is still laying on the ground.
"Miraculous Ladybug," I shout as I throw the fishing line up into the air.
I feel myself become overwhelmed with sadness at the thought that the ladybugs were able to fix everything except for Cat Noir's broken heart.
I exit Hawk Moth's lair and begin my search for Cat Noir. It doesn't take long before I see his silhouette on a roof top looking out over the city.
"Cat Noir," I say as I take a seat next to him.
"Call me Adrien. It doesn't matter now anyways. There's no doubt you know who I am after all of that." Cat Noir looks down at his legs which are swinging slightly.
"My poor kitty." I wipe a tear away from his face.
"Ladybug, how could I be such a fool? This is all my fault. So many people got akumatized and hurt. If I had only known that my own father was Hawk Moth, I could have prevented all of this." Cat Noir's voice was filled with sadness.
"That's not true Cat Noir. None of this is your fault. Think of all the times we've saved Paris. You're a hero, Cat Noir."
"I don't feel like a hero." His voice sounds dull and empty, completely opposite to his usual cheery expression.
"Ladybug, where am I even supposed to go now? There's no way I can go back home to my father. Am I nothing more than just a lonely street cat?"
"You can't abandon your father. I know you are hurt and I know this is hard to take in, but your father needs you. I saw how he was after you ran away. He's hurt too, Cat Noir," I say in reassurance.
"You're still calling me Cat Noir." He lifts his head and gives me a questioning look.
"I do know who you are now, Adrien, but that doesn't change anything. You'll always be Cat Noir to me."
"I think I need to be alone for right now. Thank you for trying to cheer me up, Ladybug." Cat Noir flashes me a smile, but I can still see the sadness he is feeling in his eyes.
"I'll always be here for you." I give Cat Noir a quick kiss on the cheek before standing up from my spot.
I begin to walk away before pausing for a moment to say one last thing.
"Cat Noir," I say.
"Hm." Cat Noir lifts his head up and turns his head in my direction.
"I know I said that knowing your identity doesn't change anything, but that isn't fully true."
I watch Adrien let his head hang back down before finishing my sentence.
"It does change one thing. It changes how I feel about you."
"H-how?" Cat Noir stutters from behind me.
"I love you, Cat Noir," I say.
I begin to make my final exit but am knocked slightly off my feet by a force coming from behind me. It takes me a second to notice that the force is Cat Noir hugging me from behind.
"I love you too, Ladybug," He says as he hugs me tighter.
"Promise me one thing," I say.
"Yes?"
"Promise me you'll go home to your father Adrien. You both need each other right now."
"I don't know if I will ever be able to forgive him, or if my relationship with him will ever be the same, but I promise I will go home to him," Adrien says.
I am pulled out of the moment by the noise of my earrings flashing. I feel Adrien release me from the hug and am aware that he must have heard the noise too.
"I have to go now Cat Noir. I am about to change back."
"But why? Can't I know who you are now?" Cat Noir's eyes widen with sadness.
"I shouldn't even know who you are. But, even if I do want you to know who I am, now is not the right time," I say.
"I understand. And Ladybug, thank you again."
"Goodbye Cat Noir." I make my final exit into the moon lit sky leaving Cat Noir alone on the rooftop.
