A Night to Remember:
Lily was laying face first on her bed exhausted. It had been a long day and Mike wasn't home. He was never home she thought. Suddenly she heard a knock at the door frame and a gentle but strong voice.
"Hey baby girl how are you?" Came Mike's voice like a sweet, sweet melody to her ears. She jumped up and ran into his arms with a newfound energy having him there.
"You were supposed to be working late tonight I thought. What happened?" Lily said with a worried tone.
"Got a lot done and the boss let me off early since I was the only one there. I thought you would be happy to see me since I've been so busy lately."
"No, I am happy." She brightly smiled at him before her face showed how tired she was. "I was just worried something had happened."
He gently wrapped his arms around her kissing her neck ever so lightly and guiding her to the bed. "Nothing is wrong baby girl, don't you worry your little head." He whispered in her ear laying her on the bed before continuing to kiss her neck.
Lily suddenly winced, grabbing her stomach and curling up in a ball while Mike got a look of shock and worry. "I-I'm fine... I must have eaten something bad at lunch. Come on keep going it feels good." She said as she uncurled and pulled him down slightly.
Mike returned to kissing her neck lust filling both their eyes and minds as he slowly began to lift her shirt. He stopped looking down at her stomach with a look of pure horror and whispered, " What the hell did you eat for lunch.."
Lily looked down and screamed as she saw a large tendril moving around under a dark green bruise that covered what seemed like most of her stomach. Suddenly her gut burst as a slime covered tongue like appendage wrapped around her lover's neck and her eyes went an empty yellow. Her ribcage seemed to open wide as if it was a mouth that hungered for something to devour. The tendril slowly tightened around his throat as blood vessels popped and he began to choke on his own spit and blood clawing at the thing as it pulled him ever closer to its gaping jaws.
A deep hollow voice emitted from Lily's body, her lips moving but words not her own "I HUNGER" as the tendril wrapped around his neck tighter and her rib cage moved like a hungry animal attempting to feast on still live prey that was slowly losing strength.
Feeling the life drain from his body, MIke finally had no strength and descended into the jaws of the beast, his screams muffled by the tendril around his neck.
Family Reunion:
A small child huddles with her mother and a group of other survivors. It had come out of nowhere, no warning, no signs, one second there and now gone. But the adults wern't stupid, they knew it couldn't be over, not yet. Something was still out there. It was simply a matter of when it would strike. Thirty five in total had made it to the basement they currently huddled in. That was it, out of all three hundred and twenty five residents in this small town only thirty five remained. One of the survivors was already broken, one of the mothers. Her daughter, Liliana, hadn't made it to the basement and was assumed dead. She had been crying in the corner refusing to accept her daughter was gone.
Outside the empty moans of hunger could be heard in the distance. A warning that the monster was still out there. The mass of tendrils grabbing any living thing within reach and the yellow eyes burned into your memory forever.
"We can't just sit here like ducks!" came a cry from one of the women.
"What do you expect us to do? Have a conversation with the thing?" came another voice.
"She is right! We have to fight! Or we will be stuck here until it hunts us down and kills us like cattle!" Murmurs of agreement passed through the crowd before a voice of reason broke through.
"Even if we wanted to fight it what would we do? Hit it with a wrench while it eats us? We would be walking right into a slaughter." A man said.
"What would you have us do? We can't just sit here and wait now can we?" an older woman said with a sigh.
"No, we can't. I suggest a small team of maybe five people, go out and check the area. They can try to find the thing then report back, out for max thirty minutes. Anyone not back by then will be considered dead." He said with an uplifting tone.
"Who would be stupid enough to do that?" came a random call.
"Well for starters I would lead it since it was my idea. Who would be willing to go with me?" for a few moments nothing changed as everyone looked around before a few voices popped up.
"I can do it." came one mans call.
"I don't have anything to lose." came a woman walking from the back.
"Can we get one more?" the first man asked.
From the corner LIliana's mother said in a strong voice, "I'll go. Maybe then I can find my daughter."
The first man nods, "My name is Rowan, my wife didn't make it.. I was right there when the monster took her. It should have been me but, maybe I can take that thing down in her memory, right?"
"Good to meet you Rowan, However, I know my daughter is still out there. We just have to find her." The mother said with confidence.
"Let's hope so.." Rowan replied.
The other woman stepped forward and reached out her hand, "Names Brooklyn."
"And I'm her husband Edwardo."
"Good to meet you both." Rowan said. "We should probably get going.." he uttered, grabbing a wrench as the others grabbed some supplies for the trip.
...
With ten minutes passed the group was tired and on edge. They had gone through multiple buildings and had decided to explore the high school. The blood curling moans had gotten louder but they couldn't find the source. As they turned the corner to the gym a tendril reached out and wrapped around Edwardo's neck, flinging him into a wall, a blood curdling crunch as his skull made contact with the concrete walls.
Brooklyn screamed in horror as a tendril wrapped around her leg pulling her into the gym and out of sight as she tried to claw at the ground for any kind of hold. Rowan and Liliana's mother fought off the tendrils with wrenches before her mother caught a glimpse of the monster and walked straight into the tendrils without a sound as Rowan hollered for her to stop.
Now alone Rowan continued to fight, refusing to let the monster win. He continued to swing the massive beast closing in on him. He let out a final war cry as he charged at the beast that could be heard all the way at the basement, "FOR AVA!" Then he felt the warm tendrils wrap around him, and the gym went silent. The beast slowly retreated leaving no trace but the memories of the people and the Crazed stories of some poor mentally ill souls.

To Whoever Finds this Letter,
I am writing this due to the recent events concerning a monster here. That monster is me. I don't know what is happening to me. My name is Liliana and I don't know how long it will be until the monster takes over but if my mother is still out there... tell her I love her. And I'm sorry. Oh gods... i think it's ta
