I wake up to loud country music and groan. Of course. Kyson gets obsessed with one type of music and he won't listen to anything else until he gets tired of it. The country phase has lasted a solid four days and I'll give it a week or so longer.

"Kyson! Turn. It. Off! I'm trying to sleep!" I yell with sleepy irritation.

I hear him laugh in the kitchen as he proceeds to turn it up.

"Ughhhhhhh!" I scream. Living with a nineteen year old boy has its downsides. Especially when said boy has the maturity of a third grader.

I hear footsteps and my door opens.

I refuse to crack an eye open and I ignore him.

"Awww Ads. Cmon now. You know you love David Nail." Kyson coos. I say nothing and he laughs, falling back into my bed. I resist the urge to shove him off of me and onto the floor.

"Country music, cuddling with Ads... What a great start to the day!" Kyson cheers with false happiness, burrowing deeper into my back.

"Kyson Edwards. Get off of me right now."

"Or what?"

"Or I'll kick you out."

Kyson gives a small laugh.

"Oh yeah. One call to David could settle that claim, I'm sure darlin'." Kyson teases, referring to my dad.

I try to push him off but he's like a boulder.

"You're so freaking fat. I just wanna sleep!" I whine.

"I made pancakes."

I sit up and push off the blankets.

"Fine."

We sit down and as I smother my pancakes in whipped cream we plan out our day, something that I find incredibly necessary and something that Kyson despises. I'm a tad OCD.

A normal day consists of us being lazy, walking around Portland to window-shop, and lots of eating. As much as Ky hates it, we don't have much else to do until classes start in a couple of days.

"Let's go shopping." Kyson suggests. I swear he is the only boy who loves shopping.

"Ky we went shopping like two days ago. I have enough new school clothes and you have more than I do."

Kyson groans and gives me a look.

"What kind of girl are you?"

"A sensible one." I retort. He rolls his eyes.

"I need some fresh air." I announce, scooting back from the counter. Kyson's eyes enlarge.

"Adda. Are you feeling okay?"

Now it's my turn to glare. I'm not exactly an excercisor but shouldn't he be supporting me?

"I feel perfect. I'm just getting a little stir crazy thank you very much."

Me and Kyson's homes aren't big by any means and sometimes having only two people to occupy them is too much. Kyson is over almost everyday and especially now since Dad is gone. Unfortunately, with my mood, I could do without the golden boy at the moment.

Dad doesn't want me by myself while he's gone, so he's okay with Kyson coming to stay with me. He doesn't worry, (which is surprising seeing that he's always worrying about me), because he knows we're best friends and nothing more.

"Alright then. The park?"

---------------

"Why are you making me do this? Is it fun for you to watch me struggle?" I moan, wiping the my sweaty forehead with the back of my hand. I stop to catch my breath.
