ELEMENTS AT WAR

High above me, the elements run riot.
Winds cast clouds far and across the high heavens.
I see the darkness gathering within this chaos.

A storm is coming
The clouds gathered, herded together, Like sheep by hasty wind like shepherds.
The wind rocks the roofs and invokes the plants in a dance.

Now, the clouds turn dark blue.
The heavens have decided.
The flood gates are opened,
Yet again as in the time of Noah.

Torrents of furious rain whip the Earth.

The wind howls like a thousand wolves
The rain falls with a vengeance.

Drops descend like bullets,
Followed by countless others,
Like armies in full charge.

The world is all wind and water now,
Alive full of sound, like a beast of legend.
I hear the roaring thunder above,
The lightning seems to go before it,
Lighting up the dark sky in a long line of power.
It shines and all in an instant is illuminated.

Then,comes the roar.
A roar above the rains, above the winds.
The roar of a thousand dragons.

There is fury in the air.
The elements seem to make war upon themselves.
Howling wind, swift water, battered Earth and a roar of thunder.

Then, it's gone, the wind howls no more.
The thunder's roar now a mere rumble .
The rain, a trickle and fades away.
The patient earth absorbs it all.

A new cool descends upon the world.
The war of elements is at an end.
All is calm, all is silent.

From houses of shelter, men reemerge.
To walk the realms once more
And control all that's in their power.
For the elements know no man as master.
The wind blows where it wills.
