Digits Crossed

Crossflare looked down in worry, then looked back up to face Sideswipe. "Listen, if you tell Strongarm how you feel before the end of the day, then I will confess my feelings to Jetstorm. Deal?"

"Deal," Sideswipe responded immidiently.

At that moment, Overflow walked in and gasped when she heard their agreement and saw Sideswipe walk out. She approached her twin sister with her servos on her hips.

"You do realise that you've just promised to confess to Jetstorm?"

Crossflare chuckled before responding. "No I didn't." She held out her servo to reveal her digits which were crossed. "But now, Sideswipe will get to tell Strongarm how he feels and my feelings can remain a secret," she said with a slight smirk.

Overflow reached for the door behind her. "Oh, we'll see about that." The Mini-con opened the door then left. Leaving Crossflare to wonder about what she said.

Sunburst found her younger sister Gadget along with Fixit at the Command Centre staring at the monitors and laughing. What about? She had no idea, so she decided to find out.

Gadget looked up and gasped when she saw Sunburst with her arms folded. She quickly stood in front of the screen and pushed Fixit away. Trying to make it look as if they were working.

"Sunburst!" She cleared her throat. "How was patrol?"

"Nothing bad, just humans couples left and right, even teenagers were involved. It felt really wierd to watch," she noticed the screen. "What were you watching?"

Gadget sighed then stepped to the side to reveal the security cameras. Multiple screens were filled with Sideswipe trying to tell Strongarm how he felt, but each time he couldn't get the sentence out. "We've been watching Sideswipe all day."

"And it is hilarious, you should take a look," Fixit added.

"Isn't that called spying?"

"Not really, we do this a lot to check for intruders, so you could say that we came across this whilst doing our job," Fixit replied.

Sunburst glared at them then turned around and walked away. Leaving Gadget and Fixit to think about how they've disappointed Gadget's older sister.

Sunburst looked around for Sideswipe, she felt really bad for the Autobot. Eventually, the Mini-con found him sitting on a crate holding a few flowers. She sighed then walked over to him.

"You okay, Sideswipe?" she asked with an empathetic smile.

"It doesn't matter how hard I try, I just can't tell her, and I've tried every human method there is. Flowers, energon, alone time, and nothing!"

Sunburst thought for a moment. "There is one way you haven't tried."

"And what way is that?"

"The Sideswipe way."

Sideswipe's optics widened when he heard that. He knew now that he needed to tell Strongarm his way, and not the way humans would do it. However, he had no idea what his way was.

"But...what is my way?"

"Just tell her how you feel," she looked down in thought. "And I know just the place to do it." Sideswipe gave her a confused look before he was handed a piece of paper. "Go to these coordinates at this time, and I'll make sure Strongarm is there too. It will be perfect, I promise." The Mini-con left to go and find Strongarm.

Sideswipe watched as she left, he had no idea where the coordinates would lead him to, but he was interested in finding out.

A few hours later, Sideswipe arrived at the location Sunburst had told him about. It truly was amazing. There was an overview of Crown City with all of the lights on as the sun was setting in background, leaving a only a few minutes until complete darkness in the sky.

He walked forward but then stopped when he noticed Strongarm staring at the Sunset. The light reflected off of her paintwork and made her glow. He knew that this was the right time.

"Strongarm?"

The cadet turned around to see Sideswipe walking towards her. "Sideswipe? Sunburst asked me here."

"I know, she sent me here too," he told her as he walked forward.

"Why?"

"Because I need to ask you something important," Sideswipe told her as he took a deep breath, gazed into her optics and began to speak. "Do you know what Valentine's day is?"

Strongarm gave him a confused look. "Not really, no."

Sideswipe reached out and held her servos, she gasped quietly as he did so. "Well, it's the one day of the year where you spend time with the one you love or even tell them how you feel."

Strongarm blushed ever so slightly. "W-what does that have to do with me?"

Sideswipe took another deep breath then smiled at her. "Because I wanted to ask you..." He hesitated, but the look in her optics gave him the courage to speak. "Cadet Strongarm, will you be...my Valentine?"

Strongarm's optics widened after she heard him ask that. She never expected something like this from him, he used to never give her a second thought, who knew that he was carrying feelings for her all this time? The cadet was really happy to hear those words come out of his mouth.

"Yes."

Now Sideswipe was surprised. "Yes?"

"Yes, I will be your Valentine," she told him. Before they knew it, the pair were hugging each other, really happy that they both felt the same way about each other.

Behind the bushes, Sunburst and Crossflare we quietly celebrating by hugging each other and high-fiving.

At that moment, Jetstorm arrived and gasped when he saw Sideswipe and Strongarm. Sunburst quickly grabbed his arm then pulled him behind the bush.

"What are you doing here, Jetstorm?" Crossflare asked the buzzsaw.

"Overflow said you wanted to see me," he replied.

'I'm going to kill her!' Crossflare thought to herself. Then she smiled at him and began to speak, but not the words the others were expecting. "It's nothing, Jetstorm."

"Sideswipe won't be happy," Sunburst told her younger sister.

"Can we just celebrate our victory, please?"

The sun Mini-con just rolled her optics before looking back at the sunset. The three smiled, it was the best first Valentine's Day ever.
