Xavier's POV (chapt 2, 3, 4).

Start from the beginning

"Hey!"
I called after her. She stopped but didn't turn around.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

She turned with a shocked expression on her face. She probably must've thought that I would ask her about the anxiety pills but I could tell she didn't want to talk about it. Besides, I was practically a stranger. She had no business telling me.

She quickly composed herself and said, "Veronica Silverstone. What about you? You're new here? I haven't seen you around."

Veronica. The girl 'Colin the douche' went for a date with.

"Yeah..... I joined yesterday."

I walked towards her, held out my hand and said, "The name is Xavier. Xavier Anderson. It was nice meeting you."

A couple of days into school and I could tell Veronica was avoiding me. Everytime I saw her in the hallway, or in AP Calculus, which we had together, she ignored me.
I wanted to assure her that I wasn't going to pounce on her or something and ask her about her pills, neither was I judging her but I didn't get a chance.
Until the other day.

Kelsi had forced me to go to the cafeteria for lunch that day. Apparently, she was bored of always eating lunch alone at McDonald's. I didn't really mind the alone time but I said yes for her sake.

As soon as we walked in, someone called, "Hey, Anderson! Come on over!"
I turned to see Austin waving me over. I smirked and walked towards them. Kells in tow.

"Hey man," Austin said and slapped his hand on my back.

"Carter," I said in acknowledgement and nodded towards him.

"Dude! Who is the chick?! You got a girlfriend in your first week here already?"

I turned to look at Simon. We had history together and he was on the team too. Before I could reply though, the girl sitting next to him hit him on his head and said, "She is obviously his sister, you dimwit! They are practically twins except that red hair of hers."

"Aww, seriously?" Kelsi turned and looked towards me with a grin. "I don't look that bad now, do I brother dearest? I mean.... We obviously know who got the better looks in the family."

She was such a brat. But I loved her nonetheless.

"Sure, Kells," I said and chuckled.
"Now if you are done obsessing over your ugly self, I think it would be wise for us to introduce ourselves to this lot. We are sitting with them you know?"
I always thought she was a little slow on the uptake. But maybe that's just me being an annoyed brother.

"Oh shoot, yeah. My bad. Hey guys! My name is Kelsi Anderson and this is my douchebag of a brother, Xavier." I scowled at that.

"Well, you obviously know my name we just had the same class," said Austin to Kelsi, "And we are on the same team," he said and looked at me.

"And this is our table. Come on now, children," Austin said while looking at his friends. "Tell the new kids your names and a little about yourself."

They went along it for some reason.
Weird bunch.

I could tell Simon was a big softy under his 'I'm too cool for school pretext.'

Jennifer, I thought, was more like Kells. Outgoing, bubbly, and dare I say it.... A tad bit annoying? But she too, seemed to have a good heart.

Skylar simply glared at me for looking towards her. I think she expected me to cower from her stare but I maintained eye contact and nodded towards her in acknowledgement.
So many years being acquainted to the people on the wrong side of town had taught me to never look down when someone stared at you. They then would think of you as their next target to bully or all in all, a weak person.
If I had the money before, I would have long shifted schools before letting Kells go with me there. But thank God, I got the money at the right time. Which reminded me... I had to call Roy.
