You Saved Me

Chapter 1: Rehab

"Well as you may already know I'm Lacey...Lacey James. I've been clean for 60 days...has it been easy? Hell no but I mean hey...you do what you gotta do to survive right? Survival of the fittest." Lacey says in the support group circle.

"Thank you for sharing that was great Lacey you all are dismissed Lacey come by my office in 10 please?" Ms. Lora the director says.

"Yea sure" Lacey says

"Buuuuut until then you're coming with me " Laceys boyfriend Brandon says as he grabs her arm and pulls her away.

"Wait where are we going?" Lacey says giggling "ill catch up with you Ms. Lora" Lacey yells from a distance.
"10 minutes Lacey I'm not kidding" Ms. Lora yells back.

Brandon leads Lacey to the basement that they hang out at that nobody really knows about.

"Why'd you bring me to the spot babe?" Lacey said confused. "You must have something to tell me" Lacey says giggling.

"I do actually...you're getting out soon Lacey...away from this hell hole" Brandon says looking at her with his hands around her waste.

"You think they'll let me out forreal this time?" Lacys says playing with his locs.

"Babe you've really changed you've been clean you've had good behavior and maintaining your classes...you don't have a reason to stay here anymore" Brandon says as he looks into her eyes .

" what do you mean? I have all the reason to be here, Brandon. You're here, I've made friends here, my home is here....I haven't been home in months and I doubt it will be the same when I go back. " Laceys says as she puts her head down.

" Lacey you deserve everything that life has to offer you, you shouldn't be stuck in a rehabilitation center. I love you and I know whatever it is you decide to do outside of these four walls that it will be great and you will make a difference. Plus, I am almost out my day is almost here as well so will be on the outs soon." Brandon says as he picks Laceys head up and smiles.

Brandon and Lacey kiss eachother and reminisce on their times before rehab.

" Do you remember those little tiny pies your mom used to make every Sunday for the kids in the neighborhood?" Brandon asks Lacey

"Mmm... vaguely , but I do remember her telling you not to eat one of them but I can't remember what kind they were. We were so little and so close who ever would have thought that we would be a couple? Laceys says and she lays on his shoulder.

" it wasn't a mystery for me.... I always knew." Brandon says looking out the window.

" you always knew what?" Lacey says lifting her head up and looking at him with confusion.

" I always knew we'd be together. I always loved you more than a friend but I just never knew how to tell you." Brandon said

"...Wow" Lacey says, "I never knew that" she says as she giggles.

"What do you think it's like to be free in the world and not have to rely on drugs?" Lacey says.

"Probably freakin amazing....not to have to worry about ending up in a place like this" Brandon says.
