Jaime got more involved in chess and coding, finally having time to catch up on the marvel movies. Man did he have some serious critics.

He spent more time with his sister, wanting to help her through the confusion of her sexuality while also making sure to chaperone, keeping his friend on her best behavior.

Kyle also worked more on building the relationship between him and his mother, spending as much time with her as possible and even taking a big step, introducing her to JJ. As a friend yeah, but it was a good first step.

Each day, he opened himself up a little bit more because for some reason, he just felt it was right. He figured his mom might want him to have a real family again, like so many people have tried to tell him.

He prayed that..wherever his mom was, that she didn't hate him for trying.

Rather than focusing on what was going on or what was missing, they focused on their lives. They were teens after all.

There was so much shit they needed to cause before they got wrecked by relationships and responsibilities. So much living they had to do before being dragged down by the heaviness of it all.

They were in a healthy place. They could only hope Max and Karie were taking their time as well. Figure out their priorities.

However, they had their not so good moments.

Kyle was headed to class when he saw it. DaKarie was bent over his girlfriend who was pressed against the lockers, their lips were swallowing each other in the most nauseating, most infuriating way.

Apparently now he got..jealous. It was an ineffectual and profitless emotion that he now had the privilege of experiencing. One of the great benefits of falling in love he guessed.

He tried not to stall too long as he waited in the hallway, he couldn't help but stare. He hated the pain in his chest as he watched.

"Yo, China! What you starin at man?" Kyle felt a firm hand slam down on his shoulder, causing him to wince slightly.

Chris walked passed him with a grin and stood just a few feet away. Kyle was about to reply with something a little snarky but when he glanced over one last time, DaKarie was staring at him.

He watched Karie instantly start to pull away from the girl who was now glaring in his direction.

"So, look I get this is awkward. I don't like you, you probably don't like me but I gotta ask, you going to the dance on Saturday? You got a date?"

Uh..?

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Don't get it twisted, alright? Its for my lil sis, she's 15. She's like..mad into K-Pop shit. If I put in a good word with you, She'd hook me up with her dance friends. You know what they say, playas gonna play." He joked, grinning. Kyle stared down at him in awe.

"Anyway, all you gotta do is take her on a date or something. You probably know a couple those songs right? She might be annoying as shit but if you hurt her, I'll break every bone in your fucking body. You hear me?"

"Look, as touching as that sounds I..really can't."

Chris glared at him as he replied, "Why's that? She ain't good enough for your or something?!"

"How exactly am I supposed to know that, I've never met her. Look, I'm 18, she's considered a minor so unless you want to go to jail for pimping out your little sister, I say just drop it. Get your lay some way else."

Kyle hurried straight to class with his head down the entire time.

DaKarie tried to talk to him after school but Kyle managed to dodge him and then the next day during passing and two more times after that.
