We're Not Perfect (Book 2)

Chapter 2

Ariana's POV

I sit at my desk and impatiently tap my fingers on the desk. The teacher is 15 minutes late. Why does this always seem to happen to me?

I hardly know anyone in my classes. Emma is in 4 of mine, Maddie and Diego are in 2, Andi is in 3, and I don't have any with Daniel. It sucks that I have no idea who anyone is, but I guess I could always make new friends.

Two unfamiliar boys are seated next to me at the lab table. They are both have brown hair and brown eyes. Let's just say, they are both very attractive.

I decide to pull out my phone and pretend to be doing something, I don't want to look like a loser. The teacher still hasn't come to class yet. I sigh and continue to play on my phone.

"Colton, can't you just make the bell ring?" One of the boys next to me complains.

"I will in a bit. Some one could see me anyways..." Colton, I'm guessing, sighs. What are they talking about?

"Dude, stop being a baby. Just make the god damn bell ring." The other boy scoffs.

"Fine." Colton sighs. I watch him focus and start to mumble something. Blue magic flies from his fingers and hit the bell, making it ring loudly. I gasp. Is there another wizard at this school?!

"C'mon man, let's get out of here." The boy grabs Colton and runs out of the room. I grab my things and run after them. I need to find out what is happening.

I run in the direction that they went and keep a reasonable distance. I watch them walk outside and debate whether or not to follow them. C'mon, Ari, think... what would Jax do?

He would follow them. I wipe the sweat on my hands on my pants and then walk outside. I creep around the corner and see them just standing there.

"C'mon, Alex, I don't want to skip on the first day here. We're trying not to get in trouble this time-"

"Blah, blah, blah... what are they going to do? Not a god damn thing. Because I am going to the beach. You can pretend to be Mister goody two shoes while I pick up hot chicks." Alex smirks. I try to get a better look, but end up stepping on a wrapper.

"Do you hear that?" Colton asks. Alex nods and then runs toward me.

"What the hel-"

"Oh, this isn't the bathroom..." I play dumb and try to walk back inside. Alex grabs my arm and turns me around.

"Looks like we got a stalker." Alex smirks.

"No, I told you, I'm on a bathroom hunt. This is why girls go in groups. We get lost really easily."

"Sure, I'll believe that when pigs fly."

"Alex, cut her some slack. Can you just tell us why you were following us?" Colton asks.

"I was curious."

"About what?"

"Why you were using your powers during school." I state and his face goes blank.

"I knew somebody would see me! Way to go, Alex!!" Colton yells and Alex holds up his arms in defense.

"It's okay, I won't tell anyone."

"How can we trust you?" They both ask in unison.

"I'm a witch, too." I smile. They both sigh in relief. I laugh and then turn to head back inside.

"Hey, wait, where are you going?"

"Back inside. My next class is in 5 minutes." I say.

"Why don't you come to the beach with us? We only have two classes left anyways." Alex has a point. I only have two study halls left.

"Okay, I'll come with you guys." I smile. Colton and Alex nod and then I walk with them to their car. They drove here together?

"What if Susan and Jay don't want us at the beach? What if they wanted is home? What if-"

"Colton, calm down. They are our foster parents. They don't really care about us."

"But they can make us move, again." Colton sighs. Alex stays silent and turns up the radio. I stare out the window and wait until we arrive at the beach. Looks like I've got a lot to learn about these boys.

So the boys are orphans? I just put them in the story and I already love them. Cameron Dallas is Colton and Shawn Mendes is Alex.
