“Excuse me sir. Can you point me to where the taxi center is?” I asked timidly
“Yes it would be down this long hallway, take a left, and there should be an elevator. It’s up there.” He replied.
“Thanks.”
I did exactly what the man said I walked down the hallway. Took a left and there was no elevator.
“That asshole.” I mumbled to myself
I tried to backtrack my steps, but I ended up getting myself more lost. Why isn’t anyone in this damn airport? I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed my dad’s number.
“Hey.”
“Hey, dad I was wondering……”
That’s when I realized I was talking to his answering machine.
“Gotcha. Sorry I’m busy at the moment so leave a message after the beep.”
You’ve got to be kidding me right now.
I walked down the empty hall and found a bench. I stacked my suitcases and bags beside me and laid down.
I’m so glad I came back to America. Ha-ha Not.
I rested my head and tried to fall asleep. Hell if I wasn’t going to get a taxi I might as well sleep
**
That’s when I jolted awake. Somebody had touched my arm.
“What The hell.” I screamed
“That’s not a polite thing to say.” Said a strange voice.
I looked over to see a man sitting beside me.
“Look, my money is in the suitcase just leave me alone.” I said in a sarcastic tone
“I don’t want your money.” He said
“Oh I know, Brandon.”
“Hey how’d you know it was me?” he asked
“Ummm…. Because of your voice?” I said
“Oh. I’m so stupid.”
“So why are you still here?” I asked him.
“I could ask you the same question. Along with why are you sleeping on a bench in a deserted airport. “He said.
“Oh that. My dad called and said he couldn’t pick me and he told me that there was a taxi service thing here. So I asked this guy how to get there and he gave me directions but I got lost. So then I found this bench and fell asleep.”
“That’s an interesting story. I saw you sleeping here and didn’t want to wake you, but I was afraid someone would come and robe you so I kind of stayed here all night.” He said.
“Wow stalker much.” I replied
“Hey I was just worried a pretty girl like you by yourself. You know.”
“Yup. So do you know where this taxi place is?” I asked him
“Yeah, but how about I just take you home instead.”
“I’m sorry your offer sounds great and all but that sounds creepy to me. Like I’ll get in your car and youll like kidnap me or something.” I said
“I didn’t think of it like that. I’m sorry.”
“It’s quite all right. Stop apologizing.”
“Okay. So where do you live?”
“Well, I’m not really sure.”
I got into my back pocket and handed him the piece of paper with the address written on it.
“Oh you’re Victoria Wolf.”
“How’d you know that?”
“I just know.”
“Come On Tell me.” I said angry.
“Just because your dad told me all about you.”
“Huh?” I said. I was so confused. “How do you know my dad?”
“Were just neighbors” he said and smirked.
“If you and my dad are neighbors then that means….” I didn’t even finish
“Were neighbors. Oh and along with my 4 other brothers.”
Oh Fuck. This is going to get interesting.
