NO ONE chose to be a part of the fight club, the fight club chose them. They had potential.
Annchi Wu was born into poverty. She had to survive off of the scraps from yesterdays meal, move from place to place because her parents couldn't afford to keep their house for more than a week. She was a survivor and they saw her potential.
They would recruit those who had it worse than them and place bets on who could win in a fight, sometimes to the death. The last one standing would gain the prize money which depended on the type of match. They strived to make champions.
Annchi Wu was promising. She never tapped out nor gave up, always determined to get the prize money that helped ease her parent's load. She made it out of every fight without showing off her injuries; she was a champion.
No matter your status in the fight club, you couldn't leave by your own will. There was no way out. Once you were in, you were in for life or until your boss let you go.
For Annchi, that was never going to happen.
Life had chosen its path for her, even if it made it all the more difficult for her. She was seeing her parents even less than before, but she kept telling herself that it was better this way. It was better for her parents.
Annchi Wu was the reason for her parents happiness but she chose to believe that it was the money that made them happy so she kept doing what she did, even if the guilt haunted her.
No one made it out of the fight club on their own will, unless you were dead, let go, or the avatar.
