Ollie couldn't sleep. It was 11:00 at night and despite having to wake up early, there they were lying in bed, wide awake.
They sighed, running their fingers through their curly blurple (blue/purple) hair. Then, they got an idea.
Ollie reached over to their nightstand and blindly searched for their phone, definitely knocking something over in the process.
Quickly doing some math on their fingers, they determined that it was only 8:00 where their girlfriend, Mia lived. Ollie put on their glasses and turned on their phone, calling Mia.
After only a few seconds, Mia's face lit up the screen. The bright red streaks in her short blonde hair were somewhat visible, and she had a big smile on her face.
"Ollie! What's up, babe?" Mia asked, resting her chin on her hand.
Just hearing Mia's voice made Ollie giggle, a small smile forming on their tired face.
"Not much, I'm just- I couldn't sleep, so i wanted to talk. Plus, I just really missed you..." Ollie replied, muttering the last part.
Now it was Mia's turn to giggle at her lover.
"Shut up," Ollie turned away, covering their flustered face.

This went on for hours, Ollie and Mia talking from miles away but acting like they were right next to each other. Laughing a bit too loud at jokes that weren't even that funny.
In the midst of one of these laughing fits, Mia managed to ask,
"Isn't it late over there?"
Ollie sighed. Mia knew that they had to get up early, and Ollie knew that Mia would NOT let them get insufficient sleep.
"Y-yeah... 2 am- but we can keep going, I can-"
"NO. Ollie, I love you and I would love to keep talking, but you need to SLEEP."
"But-"
"Ah-ah-ah! No buts. You're going to sleep right now, young lady- young man- young person?"
Ollie rolled their eyes, finally giving in.
"Fiiine, I'll go to sleep. But only because you're making me!... goodnightiloveyou"
"Good. Love you too, idiot."
They both laughed, ending the call. To be honest, Ollie had been tired for a while now, they were just trying to stay awake for Mia.
Ollie put their phone back on their nightstand and rolled over onto their side, finally falling alseep.

aaand my first story is done! i know i'm not the best writer, but i hope you enjoyed it anyway! ollie x mia and a few others are my comfort couples, so expect a lot of the same stuff!
