you hummed, picking up the paper bag that you've just been handed.
"thank you!" you squeaked out, realizing how heavy the bag really was.

More to carry, but it didn't bother you.

"of course. have a nice day." The woman at the counter grunted out.
she sounded tired, most  likely sleep deprived. But it wasn't your business, was it?

you continued to hum as you left the country store, walking directly into the woods. The crunching beneath your feet and the singing of birds soothed you, as you had been walking for about 30 minutes before the sun started to set, your legs and feet were started to ache.

your humming started to turn into singing,

"L, is for the way you look, at me

o, is for the only one, I-"

before a loud, booming voice that crackled like it was playing from a radio answered you,

"see."

you jumped up, looking up behind yourself.

"there you are! I've been walking for half an hour lookin' for ya'!" you huffed,

"you could've scared the shit outta me by playing a loud ass noise, y'know." you said while putting down the paper bag you had gotten only a little over 30 minutes ago, before setting down your backpack alongside it.

Opening the zipper, the faint smell of copper started to escape out of the bag.

watching as you struggled to pull out a black garbage bag out of your backpack, the tall cryptid just stood behind you, peering over your shoulder.

before long you had succeeded to pull out the black bag, tearing open the bag with your nails. You dropped the bag in front of the giant, letting the contents spill out.

the telephone pole let out a loud "EER." in approval, leaning over to grab a disembodied leg.
watching him happily snack on corpses, you opened a bag of chips to start munching on something yourself.

he vented about how nobody has been coming around these weeks and how he'd stand for days without a single person coming near his forest a few days ago.. so you smacked some people in the skulls with your metal basketball bat and tore them apart, it'd be less of a mess left in the end.

what a lovely friendship that the two of you had you thought to yourself as you finished your 3rd tiny chip bag.
