I smiled nervously.
"Hey Roddy. who's this?"

He smiled.
"this is my dad cuh"

His dad reached out his hand while staring through my soul.
"Wassup, nice to finally meet you."

I nodded, nervously.
"Likewise..."

"Is this my granddaughter?"
he asked.

I nodded, looking at Tiana.
"Yep. This is Tiana."

"ill be right back okay? i gotta check on the chicken."
Roddy said.

I frowned.
"You cooked chicken?"

He nodded.

Obviously he was lying.

He closed the playroom door leaving me, his dad, and Tiana.

"He didn't cook chicken."
his dad said.

I chuckled nervously.
"I know."

"I told him to leave me and you alone so we can talk."
he responded.

I scrunched my face up.
"Why?"

Next thing I know I was pushed against the wall with his hands around my neck.

I tried to push him away.

"Bitch don't push me away."

"Let go of me!"
I whisper yelled.

"No. You think you was gonna tell my granddaughter about what happened huh you little bitch?"

"Let go of me!"

"mommy is this man hurting you?"

"Shut up stupid piece of shit!"
Roddy's dad yelled at Tiana, kicking a bouncy ball at Tiana hitting her in the face. She immediately screamed and cried.

I pushed Roddy's dad off of me and ran to Tiana comforting her.

"Look at what you did nigga! I can't wait to tell Roddy that his own dad would hurt his grandchild."

He chuckled.
"Tell him and I'll tell the police that y'all killed your old fiancé"

My mouth dropped to the floor.

"How did you kn-"

Just then, Roddy burst into the room.
"what's going on? i heard cries."

I looked at Roddy and looked at his dad.

I sighed, knowing I'm about to lie.
"Tiana just tripped."

Roddy pouted and walked over to Tiana.
"awe you okay baby?"

Tiana looked at me and then looked at Roddy.
"yea dadda"

Roddy got up.
"okay baby... ayo pops wanna see my new forgiato  wheels?"

His dad nodded smirking at me and the both of them left the room.

I focused my attention to Tiana.

"why'd you lie mommy?"

Tears fell down my face as I hugged her tightly.
"Im sorry baby. Mommy has to lie so no one takes me and Daddy to a place where we can't escape."

Tiana nodded, patting the top of my head.
"it's okay mommy."

I smiled a little.
"Thank you baby"
