{Chapter two} Watch it brat.

You wake up in your apartment to the sound of buzzing coming from your phone.
"Ughhh what is it" you answer to the man on the other side of the phone.

"(Y/n), you have until tomorrow morning to pay rent or your out." You groan from remembering you have no money.

"I'm sorry Mr. Zakarius. I don't have tho money today."

"Understood" he hung up his side of the line. You let out a sigh and check the time. 'An hour before school starts'
You decide to get up and get ready. You walk to school, only living a five minute walk is quite handy. apart from the fact you're getting evicted tomorrow.
You walk down the hallway with your head down like usual, not looking where you were going you walked into someone, causing you to fall backwards.

"I-I'm so sorry." You say loud enough for the person to hear you. You look up. 'Shit it's Levi' you sit there frozen for a second, not wanting to move to make him angry.
"Tch watch it, brat" he walks off, you don't say anything because you never liked to pick fights. Especially ones you can't win.

'Did he call me brat? I've been called worse but brat is new' you get up, heading towards class.
"Yoohoo! (Y/n)!" Just by her voice you could tell who it was. Hanji, your favourite teacher; your science teacher.

"Hanji!" You walk up to her giving her a hug. It was okay because you knew her outside of school. She was an old friend.

"(y/n), have you seen that new kid, Levi?"

"Yes, I just bumped into him. literally."

Hanji's voice lowered to a calm serious tone. "Can you be nice to him? I'm sure you were already but he has been through tough times. I know he may seem emotionless and such but like everyone else, he still has feelings but he doesn't show them."

"O-okay. should I try and be friends with him or..."

"Ehhh.... I don't know. he is pretty unpredictable. If you try and make friends with him, he'll either not mind or he'll be rude."

"Hmmm... I'll try but I'll take it slow."
*REEEENG*
"You better get to class! Off you go" Hanji pushes you to class.

Levi comes into class late, great form for the first day. he wore mostly black, as usual. he smelt of cinnamon and bleach. weird, but nice.
"Levi. Why are you late?" Mr. Smith questions.

"Reasons" he averts his eyes to the side, looking bored.

"Okaaayy. so.... Levi take a seat so we can start class." Levi does as instructed and walks to his seat. you could see all the girls swooning and giggling as he walked past them. He stuck his hands in his pocket and sat down.

"Today, we are doing partner work. We are doing a project on how the human brain works. I will draw names out of this hat to decide who's going with who so we don't have any arguments like last time. Petra come up here."

Petra walks up to the front and picks out a piece of paper. "Sasha Braus"
This went on for a while. Armin ended up with Mikasa.
"Levi come up at the front."
To all the girls, this seemed like judgment day. who will be with Levi? Oh all of them were hoping it was them. But boy were they wrong.

Levi pulls out a piece of paper. . "(Y/n)...." All the girls looked your way. staring daggers into you. The look alone was saying: 'back off, he's mine'.

Levi makes his way to your table, sitting his chair next to yours. All you could do was do a little wave and smile and say hi, he just hi back in his usual monotone voice.
Everyone had gotten partners and had finally sat back down.

"You may begin" Erwin stated. Everyone rushed to open their electronic devices including you.

"What do you think your doing, brat?"

"Researching. For our project" you said in the nicest manor possible, but not sickly sweet so it looked like your were sucking up to him.

"Tch. no need." Levi just starts writing down on a piece of paper. He had really nice hand writing. It was about ten minutes later and Levi had finally stopped writing.
"Finished" he stated as he gestures you to go and hand up your assignment to Mr. Smith with him.

'What is he some kind of genius or something?' You thought to yourself as Erwin reads the assignment.

"Very good. This is A+ standard. Well done. And because you've finished early, you can have free time.
You say back at your table and Levi sat back at his. You just read your favourite Manga series, Attack on Titan.
The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly, you finished your lesson and had gone to first and second break with your friends. Levi still stood in the corner not bothering to talk to anyone.
