"Just yesterday, an unidentified man was brutally killed in an alleyway at midday. Police are still looking for evidence to identify the man and the killer."

Widening her eyes, Lisa snatches the remote from the table in front of her and turns the volume up. Desperately wanting to hear more about what's on the T.V.. She wraps herself in a white and black blanket right before the pictures of the crime scene are displayed on the T.V. screen. She has to look away if she wants to save her sanity. The amount of blood is shocking, but not at the same time, and she can feel her stomach knot up.

"Wow," she forces out.

Speechless. She's 100% speechless. She just came back home, and this is what happens in the first week. Lisa can't seem to wrap her mind around the thought that someone would go out of their way to do this. To kill someone this brutal, and then to leave it where the world can see. But, it's not the first time Arizona has seen killings that are like this. Back when Lisa was 16, she witnessed the shooting of William Smith and George Miller. It was a... traumatic event to say the least, and it's something a 16-year-old should never have to see. And the worst part, their families never got justice, and that's why Lisa wanted to become a lawyer so that families got their justice. But this, this is different. She starts to take note of how bold these killers are getting. Hell, it went from only night murders in dark alleyways, to now daylight murders in someone's own house. She gets up and runs to grab her notebook. Having nothing to do, she might as well take notes and try to get a head start.

"Come on Lisa, let's dig deeper."

Her pen flies across the notebook as many thoughts flood and fill her head. All possible motives and suspects were being left out for now because of the lack of evidence. Examining how the man was killed, she concludes that it was a solo act. If it was a group activity, it'd be neater. Tightly cleaned. The person who did this must've wanted him to be found. There's no other reason why the body would just be lying there, which puzzles her greatly. Why would anyone want their victim to be found other than being able to gloat about it? It's too messy and they would get caught. She thinks to herself.

"If I was a killer...what would my motives be..." she trails off.

Sitting up straighter, her eyes brighten and a small smile crosses her face as examples start to come to her.

"Money, revenge, cold-blooded, or just for fun," she says, writing them all down quickly.

She rewinds to the picture of the body and takes a picture of it. If anyone was going to solve this murder case, she wanted it to be her. But her ego soon deflates when she realizes...she's a rookie. A newbie. And that didn't sit well with her. It never had, and it never will. Running into her room, she grabs her phone off of her charger on her bed, and comes back into the living room. Dialing a familiar number, she chews on her bottom lip waiting for the person on the other end to pick up. After three rings, she hears her favorite voice.

"Li?" Asks a semi-deep voice.

Lisa lets a very creepy smirk before answering.

"Hey Valerie," she exclaims a little too cheerfully.

"Why are you calling me?"

As she laughs, she walks over to get her notebook still left on the table. She turns the T.V. off before walking away.

"I just wanted to ask some questions about being a lawyer..." she trails off.

A sigh can be heard.

"Lisa, what are you planning?"

She puts her hand over her heart pretending to be hurt, but she can't lie, Valerie reads people like a book. And there's no way she wouldn't be able to tell that Lisa wanted to take a case.
