That power. That magic.
There was no mistaking it. I was done for.
I stretched my hand, collecting the last semblance of magic in being. Vines intertwined forming the most enchanting cage a bird could ever be trapped in. But I wasn't facing any bird. I was facing one that could swallow me whole.
The thoughts kept coming. One after another. Dancing, taunting, haunting. But none of them mattered. As I saw the plants, weaken before dropping to the marble floor. I somehow found peace. My last shadow of hope had just evaporated yet I didn't feel any fear. I knew those powers would bring this castle down and found comfort in having been right. Some can just never be trusted no matter the masks they put on, and I knew this one had only been just as fake.
I couldn't think of any reason why I'd be targetted. After all I wasn't a threat. We both knew it. Yet there I was , drawing my last breaths
