• so, as you probably know, a man by the name of george floyd was killed by the police.

why, handcuffed on the floor, was there still any need to further harm him?
the answer is that there wasnt.

what did he do wrong?
nothing.

here are some things i hear/
thought of,
which i felt like were important.

1. why does 'stop' only become a significant word when its comes from the mouths of white people.

2. why is it a protest for me but a riot for others?

3. violence is only needed when words arent heard.
so why do you thinks so many protests
for black lives matter
end in violence
while mine end in peace.

4. if i had been the one they saw?
would they handcuff me?
would they stop be from breathing?
would they end my life?

5. i didnt need money to be born into privelege.
i didnt need to be smart to be born into privelege.
i didnt have to work to be born into privelege.
my skin does the work for me.

6. we say this isnt happening as much
we say we have progressed
we say we are equal
but things like this show we arent.

7. noone should have to leave their home
scared of what would happen

noone should have to see a police car
and try to stay quiet

noone should have to be killed
for doing nothing wrong

8. they say that they will protect us all
so why are only certain people
dying at their hands?

9. why is it an accident for a policeman to kill someone
their 'first time'
but when others do
it is deemed as a crime

10. people like me are blind to privelege
while for others
looking at me it is all they see

ill continue to add to this,
i hope you read it all and maybe realize
how hard it is for some people
who have done nothing wrong.

justice for not only george floyd,
but all the other black men and women
who have died at the hands of a cop
for doing nothing wrong.

im not black but i see you
im not black but i hear you
im not black but i cry with you
im not black but i hurt for you
