Wishful Thinking.

The Rain.

I cannot wait for the rain again,
So I may splash outside and play pretend
Like I'm a child that can waterbend,
And hope the feeling never ends.

I love the feeling of the sky's tears,
That wash away all of my fears
And remind of younger years
Where I'd sing songs for no one's ears.

When the rain returns to me,
I'll whisper little fantasies
For droplets to hear, for nobody
And bask in the moment of feeling free.

I will for the rain to wash away
The pain that builds up everyday,
So that I don't falter, won't sway
And smile at the clouds of grey.

I cannot wait for the rain again,
To come along and be my friend,
To see my sorrows and descend
Upon my face to make amends.
