Chapter 10

"Didn't you two break up? Why are you still on his list?" Alessia wondered.

"I-I don't know. I guess he didn't remove my name." Livia bit her nails.

"Hey it's okay. He'll be fine. He's strong." Alessia went to hug Livia.

"Why did I even come here? It's not like we're together." Livia wondered.

"Maybe because you somewhat care for him. That's why you're here. If you didn't care about him you wouldn't be here. I think you care about him in a friendly way. Maybe not if a relationship way anymore, but friendly..." Alessia said.

"Maybe. I mean yeah... I guess..." She bit her lip and zoned off.

30 minutes later...

"My son!" Mrs. Steel said as she bursted into the room.

Mary (Mrs. Steel) and Livia looked at each other.

"Livia?" Mary has said confused.

"Did you just get here? Is my son okay?" Mary asked.

"To be honest I don't know. But I got here about 30 minutes ago, and they started surgery already. I was told the bullet didn't go too deep. The surgery should take about 2-3 hours. I was told." Livia smiled lightly, looking at the Mary and Adam.

"D-did you get a call?" Mary asked.

"Uhm- I did." Livia said.

"And my best friend is also here. Because she was at the mall with me when I got the call." Livia explained.

"Hi, I'm Alessia Ramirez. I'm Livia's friend as you heard." She brought her hand out to shake Mary's hand.

They shook hands.

She also brought her hand out to shake Adams hand.

"Uhm, I'm sorry for intruding. I-I can leave." Alessia said as she looked the the couple.

"No-no it's fine. Any friend of Livia's is someone we are fine with." Mary said with a smile.

"Hold on, I have to take a call about this situation." Adam said as he grabbed his IPhone.

The 3 girls sat down.

"How are you doing, Livia?" Mary asked her.

"I'm doing great actually. How are you doing?" Livia asked with a smile.

"I'm doing just fine, where do you work, are you stable, do you need help?" Mary asked concerned.

"I work as a personal assistant for Jared Fargo. And yes, I am stable, and no, I don't need any help, but thanks for asking. How are your daughters?" She said as she turned to face Mary and cross her legs.

"They are doing great, Aria just got a job at the River center hospital, and Scarlett just got accepted to MIT." Mary said very proudly.

"That's great to head!" Livia said also excited.

Livia has a great bond with Aria and Scarlett. They would often go shopping together and get their nails and toes done together. Even have sleepovers.

But when Livia and Jax broke up, they didn't see each other anymore. It would be weird to be in the same home as Jax, after they have split.

"So Alessia." Mary said as she motioned for Alessia to come closer.

"Hm." Alessia came closer to Mary.

"What do you do for a living?" Mary asked.

"Oh, well I'm a model. I model for Calvin Klein, Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Balmain, Balenciaga, and Chanel." Alessia said as she named the companies with her fingers.

"Wow! That sounds splendid. Do you enjoy modeling?"

"I do. I do actually. Sometimes I have no rest from waking up so early and traveling, but I wouldn't change a thing. I love my job." Alessia said with in a genuine voice.

2 hours later.

The surgeon had came out of the room, and removed his mask from his face.

"The surgery was a success. We will have him transported into a different room." He said with a smile.

"Oh thank god. Thank you, for making this surgery a success." Mary smiled at the man as she was tearing up.

"Oh Adam, our son is fine." She went to hug her husband.

"Thank you for your service." Livia said to the surgeon.

"Thank you." Alessia replied after.
