Graduation was today and (Y/n) was just glad that she passed. If she didn't, how could she ever face her family again? She wouldn't be able to, she deduced about a month ago, so she had worked her butt off to make sure that she would pass the graduation exam with flying colors. While she passed, that also came with its fair share of anxiety. Being a ninja wasn't fun, it wasn't something that naturally came to you either. Not all Hyuga's were ninja's, and the same went for Uchiha's too. Because, if you had any intelligence at all, you wouldn't want to be a shinobi. It was scary as all hell and (Y/n) knew that all too well. The only reason she had gone to become one was that the chief of her clan was her father, and as his oldest child, that was what was expected of her.
No matter what was expected of her, that didn't stop her father from being picky.

That must have been why Fugaku invited Minato and Kushina over for dinner. (Y/n) had been there when her father, rather aggressively, invited the two after finding out from (Y/n)'s teacher that the blonde-haired shinobi would be her sensei. She wasn't even sure how he found out, but she wasn't completely sure she wanted to either. That had brought them to this current situation, Kushina and Mikoto talking pleasantly as the two ate peacefully.

'That's right, Miss Kushina and Mom are friends, aren't they?' (Y/n) thought to herself as she picked at her food, her eyes dull. Fugaku had made the mistake of telling her about three days ago about their little dinner plans, and her anxiety had kicked in tenfold. She'd done some training with Kakashi and went to a local sweet shop with Rin (not without picking up some Dango for Itachi, of course), but she hadn't been able to sleep since she found out about it. It was something she shouldn't have been worried about, not really, but she was. It was so stupid and she was just mad at herself.

Looking up from his food, Itachi glanced at his sister and noticed how distressed she looked. She was going to be a ninja, right? So why was she so nervous?

"I'm excited to have (Y/n) as a student, she's a very sweet girl! Ah, we also have Obito on our team so I think they'll make a nice team." Minato says, his usual calm smile on his face as he pats the young Uchiha on the head gently. They weren't strangers, not by a long shot. Minato often saw the girl running around the village with those three other kids, Kakashi more often than not. They were close, and that would make teamwork less of a hassle.

"Oh, I'm sure you're aware of this already, but we have four on our team, not just three. There were a lot of kids who passed this year."

"Does that mean big sister will have more people holding her back?" Itachi looked at Minato and questioned him innocently. (Y/n)'s eyes went wide and she promptly dropped her chopsticks into her untouched bowl of food before gently covering up her brother's mouth. She gave her mother a nervous look, feeling as though this would get her in trouble, but Mikoto's expression said a lot. Itachi would get his scolding later.

"No way! Kakashi is going to be on my team, so he'll be the better one out of all of us... I think." (Y/n) says, smiling nervously as she clasps her hand around Itachi's mouth. Being socially dumb came with being an Uchiha, she knew that, but the kind of things that came out of Itachi's mouth was getting more ridiculous as he got older.

Pulling herself out of her room had been a hassle this morning. The young Uchiha wasn't tired per se, just mentally exhausted. She had stayed up a little bit to do some reading. Kakashi had told her, as kindly as he could, that she frankly read to much and kept to herself, thus she decided to read a book on social skills. She had also gone to Shisui to ask him for advice, but he wasn't much help. He kept to himself, the only real people he talked to were (Y/n) and Itachi. While she was a bit older than him, he was far more advanced. That never worked in her favor either. It didn't necessarily matter to her though, she didn't need to be the best at anything other than being the best older sister, which she was.

The plan was to meet up with Kakashi and the others, they had a mission that morning. It was weeks after that awkward dinner and they were a full team. It was mostly just training and small missions. Those were (Y/n)'s favorite ones, the missions that were simple but gave you life lessons. And you always got a lesson from simple things like that, but Obito and Kakashi were getting restless and (Y/n) could help but think that their peaceful time together was going to turn into something utterly dangerous. That made her uneasy, nervous.

She didn't like it, not in the slightest.

"Hey!" Rin called, waving her arm at (Y/n), trying to catch the Uchiha's attention. The brown-haired girl was smiling widely, her pale cheeks lighting up. Rin couldn't help but be happy. Sure, Kakashi and Obito were great, she loved them too, but (Y/n) was different. Different in the way she was. She was incredibly soft. Both literally and metaphorically. (Y/n) was a quiet yet kind person, and it didn't help to see her being such a good older sister. Rin admittedly admired the quiet Uchiha girl, her admiration had stretched so far since they'd become a team, and Rin couldn't help but feel they should be spending more time together... as friends of course!
