"Ready to go?" He asked and I nodded.

"Come on then Alex. Shoes on" I smiled.

"Hope you don't mind that I helped get her dressed" I shrugged

"No it's fine" I said, helping Alex with her shoes before her jacket. I pulled my own jacket on before walking out the house and down to Matt's truck

"Shall we take yours? So you don't have to move car seats?" Matt asked and I nodded

"Yeah that sounds like a good plan" I nodded, helping Alex into her seat. I put the bags into the back before climbing into the passenger seat and giving Matt the keys. I looked out the window
"Can you take Alex in? I don't feel like meeting anyone new this morning"

"Yeah of course" He smiled and I nodded

"I'll tell her that she can bring her by at any point?" He asked starting to drive and I nodded looking out the window. Matt parked the car helping Alex out before walking up to the house. I watched them and soon Matt was back in the car. Matt reached over holding my hands

"She'll be okay with Cindy. I know you just didn't want to say goodbye"

"I know. I know" I nodded and he kissed me

"And remember you're under my command. We can stop off and see her whenever you want or need"

"I think it would make me feel worse" I replied as he started to drive

"Remember. If you want to. We can" I nodded

"Thanks Matt" When Matt finally parked the car I grabbed my duffel bag before walking to Boden's office with Matt walking next to me. Matt knocked on Boden's door and he soon motioned us in.

"Good to see you two. Jamie I don't think you need a tour or anything" I shook my head
"Here's your uniform. Your turnout gear is in the turnout room. If you want anything changed on it or you want any more uniform just let me know and I'll be happy to order it. As for your dress uniform that's still on order" I nodded with a smile

"Thank you Chief" I smiled and he nodded. I grabbed the uniforms and walked out of the office and Matt hung back for a minute.

I looked through the uniforms seeing that Boden had ordered Lieutenant uniforms for me. The shirts with the bugles on. The quilted jacket with lieutenant on. I should probably have mentioned the fact that I was a lieutenant before today. I found the empty locker next to Matt and Kelly's before writing Jamie on the tape just so that Kelly and I didn't get our lockers confused. I unpackaged all the uniforms before putting most of them into my duffel. I changed into the grey shirt, navy blue pants and navy blue jacket that was provided before swapping my boots for the CFD provided safety boots. Matt and I were early today wanting to get to Boden's office before the rest of second shift came in meaning that when Matt walked into the locker room he froze

"You know Boden just told me but I didn't quite believe him" He muttered walking over

"I took the Lieutenants test in LA. I didn't realise that Boden was going to make me Lieutenant here" I explained looking down as he wrapped his arms around my waist

"It's great news. I'm slightly annoyed that you didn't tell me and I'm assuming Kelly doesn't know. I know it's not the most conventional way of running a truck but I have no doubt that we'll do great at it" I smiled quickly giving him a kiss before looking about the locker room

"We'll do great" I nodded with a smile

"Plus you look good in that Lieutenants uniform" I looked down as the rowdy crowd of firefighters walked in so Matt pulled away and opened his locker
