The fleet sat quietly on the new warp point that had been discovered. The closed warp point had only just been found when a scouting ship made transit. Before it got away it was destroyed by Aquatis' patrol ships. Then the scouts and explorers had been sent out to find that there was indeed a warp point. The ship had just appeared on their scanners and sensors which only happened to be scanning that section of space at the time. Yet, from what they saw in the chase the ship had been in system for some time before it was discovered.
The Aquatis home fleet sent the first ready squadron it could muster to block the warp point and keep anything from entering so close to the planet. This left Rear Admiral LH Aqua Tycos in charge of a dozen ships of the line. The Supreme Leader named it Defense Fleet One. Thankfully, as Aqua stood on his flag ship the A.H.F. Typhoon; which was one of three capital ships he was granted, he watched as his generously named 'fleet' sank into defensive formation and locked down the warp point as best they could. He looked over the composition of his fleet on the massive holo-display that broke down his ships into the three battle groups. His flag ship the Neptune Class Carrier, his other capital ships were a Pluto class Battlecruiser, and a Zeus class Super Dreadnaught. He wished he had battleships, but he had nothing larger than a heavy cruiser of which he had four, thankfully. His battle groups revolved around his three capital ships. His own lead BG1 which comprised of his carrier, one Helios Heavy Cruiser, The Light Cruiser Selene, and one of the Athena Destroyers. The third battle group was BG2 revolving around the Pluto battlecruiser, and it held the other Helios heavy cruiser, the Demeter Missile cruiser, and the Hephaestus Frigate. The last battle group, BG3; revolved around the SD, and it held the Apollo, and Phoebus Heavy Cruisers, along with the other Athena Destroyer. These were the only ships of the line that Aqua had, but he had been given a mighty haul of Corvettes and Patrol ships, 48 of them in total. Half of each type, but these ships were never looked at for anything but a stinging hornet's nest for when a foe did appear. They were expected to die and were highly expendable. In fact, they only piloted with the most minimum of Crew while the rest of it was nearly fully automated. These ships could hardly be counted on, but they would do their best he was sure of that.
He turned his attention to the scopes that brought a constant physical image of the point onto the main screen. Of course, being that it was looking at space the image wasn't very impressive, nor did it show very much. Still, there was always the slightest of shimmers in space for Open warp points, Closed warp points however were a much harder thing to find as they didn't have the special distortion that gave off the shimmer of their open counterparts. Yet, he had ordered the image stay constant and as clear as it could be. He wanted to see the second something entered the system again. His tail swished slowly in his thoughtful patience; he didn't want this to be the prelude to a great invasion. He was old enough to recall the third Zeno war. They had started with a mere probe into Aquatis three before launching a full-scale invasion with all the force of an entire race behind it. This was why all the Primals had standby units to send for just this purpose. Yet, the probe was strange; it was so archaic that the techs that had gathered up the few scraps they could find said it was obsolete tech from the first age of the Primal Space Age. The first Primal Space Age was the history of their people's first trips into space in their attempt to create the first Galatic Primal Empire back in the days of 'Forced Unity' as his people called it. The history was so lost to both myth and legend that no one was really sure how the Primals had made it to space, nor what was truth and what was just myth or legend.
His reflections were cut off at once when his scanner officer shouted "Admiral, a ship has made Transit!"
Rear Admiral Aqua looked to the main screen seeing that a light indicator in the yellow of 'unknown, possibly hostile' ship marker appeared. Then looking to the live video feed, he saw as there was indeed some kind of ship, even if it looked so strange as to be alien. His comms officer spoke up at this point "Admiral, we-we are being hailed!"
