Sebastian slowly closed the front door of his New York apartment, trying his best to be completely silent. Regardless of his careful movements, the lock clicked loudly, causing him to wince.

It was around two in the morning, and Sebastian knew that you would most likely be asleep by now; he didn't want to startle you. He'd been filming in Atlanta for a couple of months and wasn't supposed to be home for another week but, due to a mixup with set locations, the entire cast had been given an unexpected break. Sebastian caught the first flight back home, wanting to be back with you as soon as possible.

After removing his shoes, he carried his suitcases and bags through to the living room area. Unpacking was never one of his favourite tasks – it could wait until the morning, he decided. Right now, he just wanted to go to bed; to finally fall asleep next to you again.

Sebastian climbed the stairs, using the dim light from his phone screen to guide him. When he came to a standstill in the doorway to your shared bedroom, he couldn't help but smile at the sight before him.

You were tangled in the sheets, curled up in a ball, your hair fanned out across your pillow as you slept peacefully, wearing one of Sebastian's own t-shirts. His smile widened as you sighed languidly in your sleep, and he wondered if you were dreaming of him, like he so often dreamed of you.

He shook his head a little, snapping himself out of his lovesick haze. Not bothering to carry out his usual night routine, Sebastian hastily stripped out of his clothes, leaving only his boxer shorts on, before attempting to climb into bed without waking you.

You stirred slightly as the mattress dipped under him. Frowning, you reached out with one arm to check for the source of the newfound weight. When your fingers came into contact with warm skin, you opened your eyes a fraction.

"Sebby?" you mumbled almost inaudibly, your voice cracked from sleep. "You're back?"

Before Sebastian even had the chance to answer, you rolled towards him, smiling as his arms immediately circled your waist, pulling you impossibly closer. Your legs tangled with his as you buried your face in the crook of his neck.

"Oh, sweetheart," he sighed, his lips finding their way to the top of your head, leaving sweet, gentle kisses between words, "I missed you."

You hummed contentedly, almost too tired to form words. Instead of speaking, you lifted your head and softly ran your thumb over Sebastian's jaw, before placing a lingering kiss to his lips. Of course, you'd missed him too – you always did. Always would.

The two of you remained silent as you drifted off together, wrapped up in each other's arms. Every once in a while, Sebastian would shift slightly and your heart would flutter, as if every tiny movement reminded you of how much you loved him.

In the morning, you would greet each other again, making up for weeks of being apart. But for now, sleep won over.
