I was being surrounded by thugs, backing against a wall. I felt something, almost like a shimmer through my body, and the thugs looked around, confused. "Where'd she go?" One asked. "She was right there," Another said. "It's almost like she vanished," A third said.

"Don't be stupid, Darryl. No one can vanish on a whim," The first snapped. As they argued among themselves, I slipped away. I looked down at my hands, to see nothing. "Woah," I breathed. Eventually, the thugs left, and I grabbed my stuff.

I felt something thumping against my stomach and reached in. I pulled out a walkman, with Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits cassette in it. I smiled, knowing that this was my mom's favorite band. I slid the walkman into my bag and kept moving. I found a nice, clean, secluded dumpster and settled in. It smelled wretched, so I stole some Febreeze from a store nearby and used it to mask the smell.

I felt proud of myself for getting a roof over my head, albeit a sad one.

a/n Go listen to Fleetwood Mac if you haven't heard the band before. You will not be disappointed.
