Chapter 3

I checked my phone and saw a message notification.

Chad Sebastian Espinosa: I'm here at your house to pick you up. You can take your time. I can wait for you downstairs. Maaga pa naman. :)

Eh? Totoo ba 'to, Lord? Final answer? Kinusot ko 'yung mata ko kasi mamaya namalikmata lang pala ako. Baka mali lang pala 'yung basa ko.

But it's true. Chase is really here. Nireplyan ko siya.

Avaleigh Reanna Clemente: Okay. I'll start getting ready na. :)

I opened the door and my mom just smiled at me. "Nasa sala siya, nak. Hindi ko na kayo ipaghahanda ng breakfast kasi magdri-drive-thru na lang raw kayo." I kissed her good morning tapos dumiretso na ako sa CR dito sa second floor para maligo.

I went back to my room to get ready. As usual, nakalatag na sa kama ko 'yung susuotin kong uniform today. May nakaprepare na ring lemon water sa bedside table ko. I always tell my mom na kaya ko naman nang asikasuhin 'yung sarili ko in the morning, but she insists that she wants to do these things for me as my mom.

I did my morning skincare routine. Toner, moisturizer, then sunscreen. I blow-dried my hair and put on a little makeup. Concealer lang then lip and cheek tint. I just don't want to look pale. I also put on some brow gel and curled my lashes. I sprayed my favorite floral scent from Victoria's Secret, then carried my stuff.

I quietly went downstairs. I stopped halfway as I heard my dad and Chase talking from the sala. "Avrey and I are just friends, Sir. But I can assure you that I have pure intentions on your daughter. I can wait naman po. And if I decide to act upon it, I promise to ask permission from you first."

I shouldn't have heard that. How would I stop myself from falling now that I heard those words from him? Maaalala ko lang lahat ng sinabi niya kahit anong pilit kong kalimutan.

Nung hindi na sumagot si daddy, tumuloy na ako sa pagbaba.

Pumunta ako sa sala and kissed my dad good morning. "Good morning, my princess. I hope you had a good sleep."

"Good morning, Avrey." I just smiled at Chase. Okay pa naman kahapon, but now I suddenly feel awkward being around him.

"Una na po kami." I bid my parents good bye. "It was nice meeting you po." Mukhang kabado pa rin si Chase. Dahil siguro sa tanong ni daddy sa kaniya kanina.

Hinatid nila kami sa gate. "Make sure you'll both have your breakfast ha. Ingat kayo." Si daddy naman, tumango lang sa'min at ngumiti.

He first opened the door to the passenger's seat for me. We put on our seatbelts, then he drove off.

Nakabibinging katahimikan. I feel like I need to say something to break the silence pero hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin.
