Claire x Fem Protagonist/Reader [God Eater 3 Fanfic]

Chapter 1: Intro.

3rd Person POV

"You were great out there today, Claire!", Y/n told her as they returned to the Ash Crawler from the mission.

"Yeah, like really great, Claire!", Phym added cheerfully.

Claire was taken aback by the sudden compliments. It wasn't very often she got compliments from Y/n. 

"Really?", she smiled, "I didn't think I was that different from how I usually do on missions."

"You don't need to be so modest", Y/n said, "I love teaming up with you to fight aragami. You're my favourite god eater to be with, and you're the best medic."

Claire's face started to turn red from excessive praise. She really enjoyed being told such nice things by Y/n. 

"T-thanks. That really means a lot coming from you", Claire muttered. She loved working with Y/n too, more so than the others. In fact, she would always hope that Y/n would choose her for missions. It made her happy. You could even say she had feelings for her.

"Um, Y/n", Claire asked.

"Yep? Is something wrong, Claire?", Y/n asked with concern. It sounded like Claire was about to ask something serious.

"Would you...ever go out with a girl?", Claire was noticeably blushing from asking the question.

Y/n was caught off guard by the question. Her face instantly turned crimson from Claire's sudden question.

"Uhh, well, to be honest, I kinda only like girls. So yes, I would", Y/n laughed a bit to make the atmosphere not as embarrassing. She was looking at her feet to avoid eye contact.

Claire's eyes started to shine. "R-really?!", She said loudly but then realized her enthusiastic outburst and course-corrected,  "Ahem, I mean that's cool."

Y/n laughed and smiled at Claire's reaction.

"Why? Are you interested?", Y/n said with a sly, teasing smirk on her face. Claire's whole face looked like it was about to combust from Y/n's playfully flirting.

"I have to go!", She said before running off ahead with her god arc. 

"Mommy, did Claire have to use the bathroom?", Phym said innocently. 

"To be quite honest, I'm not even sure myself", Y/n said a little bewildered by what just happened. However, she couldn't help but feel amused by how flustered Claire got. 

It was really cute.
