“Her name was Polly Nichols. She was known as a prostitute around here.” a detective read off to the police chief of Scotland Yard, Fred Shelby.
He stood over the mutilated body of the woman. Her once wonderful dress was shredded and forever stained with her own blood.
“Who could ever do this to someone?” Chief Shelby muttered.
“I don’t know, sir,” the detective replied, “but we’ll find out, won’t we?”
Chief Shelby nodded, standing up. “Let’s get this body to the morgue. I want to know what kind of weapon was used to murder Miss Nichols here.”
The detective nodded, “Right away, sir,”
“Thank you, detective.” he nodded back.
The chief looked back down into the eyes of Polly Nichols before he turned away and headed back to the station.
