We sat next to each other against my many objections

You had more

Stuck with a goodie-two-shoes

It must have been a bore

You ignored my every time I implored you to behave

And we both got into trouble

There were days I had hope

But you'd find a way to burst my bubble

I remember passing notes

Exchanging muffled giggles and knowing looks

Our mischief hidden behind lanes of books

We sat in the back talking smack

It all ended when we had to smack each other in the face

You were leaving

I had never felt so alone

Had I known you would pick up the gun to end our friendship

I would've opened fire first

'What am I supposed to do with my final year when you aren't here?'

Primary school was a mess

But my sweetest memory is of a beautiful lady

In a top and maxi-skirt

Hair wild and on her waist

A child

My sister clung to her side

She had come to take me home

I had fallen ill and she was truly a sight for sore eyes

Oh so relaxed somewhere in September

No one believed she was my mother

She looked far to young

We were all far too young

We were just having fun

We didn't know that we were making memories

Scenes that would visit us late at night

When we need them most to feel alright
