the sound of ocean waves crashing in the distance caused a trance in your mind, drawing you closer to the beach's shoreline. "y/n!" a voice calls behind you. your younger brother, misu, runs down the beach and skids to a stop beside you. "misu?" you answer dully. "mommy's waiting for us at the bridge." he says breathily. "thank you misu." you answer.
"y/n?" he asks shyly, leaning into your leg. he grabs the fabric of your trousers bringing your taller frame into his cold, shivering one. "yes misu?"
"why are we running from our friends?"
"because we can't trust them anymore." you say, taking your hand and smoothing down his unkempt, black hair. "i wish we didn't have to go." he said burying his face into your clothed thigh.
"me too misu. me too." you say picking him up and turning to walk back to your mother. he wraps his small arms around your neck and leans his head into your shoulder. he yawns and closes his eyes. you smile and kiss his forehead, trudging back to the bridge where your mother stood waiting. tears formed in your eyes and threatened to spill down your cheeks. and your voice, barely above a whisper, cracks as you turn away front the only home you knew.
