4 months ago Augustus Waters and I realized a horrible truth: the world is not a wish granting factory. After 14 months of being NEC, Gus's cancer was coming back for a rematch. He's already lost his leg due to osteosarcoma. I've said before that osteosarcoma takes a limb to check you out, and if it likes you, it takes the rest. We're hoping that Augustus' osteosarcoma won't take much of a liking to him.
The doctors, as always, are doing everything they can to keep Augustus Waters alive. I am doing everything I can to keep Augustus Waters happy. Of course, it isn't too much of a challenge. Gus is a fighter; he doesn't let his "touch of cancer" push him around.
