She doesn't show her distorted face so she wears a skull,
She wears it cause it reminds her of something she loved, the first thing and creature who loved her was a young deer, but once the creature decided to cuddle her, it died right in her arms.
But since anything that touches her or if she touches, then it dies so when the animal passed she wore it's skull ever since.
