"Me and her aren't talking right now."

"And why not?"

"She refused to apologize and ever since we just havent talked." I shrugged.

"Yall need more prayer than me lord." Granny said shaking her head.

"Why i feel like your statement gotta double meaning?" Nari asked squinting her eyes.

"Well, i do have something to tell yall." She announced l. Just as she was about to continue her front door opened and people talking could be heard. Once the voices stopped i looked up and seen a group of boys standing the doorway if the kitchen looking confused.

"Granny i know you ain't take in no kids." This one boy said. He kinda favored me just a tad.

"And you are?" Nari asked mugging him.

"I should be asking you that li bit you in my granny house." The boy said looking taken back at her statement.

"Im in my granny house." Nari retorted.

"Granny who dese people is?" Another boy asked.

"We ain't just people." I said finally speaking up causing them to look at me.

"Who are they?" I asked looking at my Granny.

"Well, Namir you remember i was telling you about your cousins that live in Texas, this is them. Nari, Kiya this your daddy's brother son Namir. Yall use to hang out when yall were younger. Well Kiya and him Nari you weren't born yet. But then Once your dad." She said pointing to Namir. "Left the state yall stopped coming round. Then thats when yall left as well because your mama wanted to to go back to Texas" she said pointing towards me and Nari.

"Then yall just never seen each other again. I thought yall dad's woulda kept yall in contact but clearly they didn't." She said.

"So who's everybody else?" Nari asked.

"Those Namir friends, they my grand kids if you let them tell it." She chuckled waving her hand around.

"Well, yall boys go im the den or some i need to have a conversation with my grandkids." She said waving the reat of the boys off. They raised they eyebrow before starting to walk to the table as well.

"Yall know what i mean, don't make me repeat myself." She told them and they sucked their teeth before making their way out the kitchen as Namir made his way to the table looking at me.

"I think i seen you in a picture before." He said.

"Probably did." I said nodding.

"So whats this about grams?" Namir asked leaning on the table.

"Getcho damn elbows off my table boy." She fussed at him.

"My bad." He said sitting back.

"So yall know im getting old and lately been in and out the hospital." She sighed.

"Whatchu getting at?" Namir asked raising his eyebrow frowning.

"Right." I said as I adjusted in my seat.
