Nothing Melts The Snow (by Michael Cranford)

The eyes of the red witch piercing my soul
As I'm curious to her plight and her goal
A promise of my birthright upon me bestowed
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow

She echoes my love, telling me I know nothing.
I know to stand my ground and that's something.
Watching accursed night with murders of crows.
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow

Vigil watchers are I and ghost wolf familiar.
The scent of death in the air oh so peculiar
Winter is always coming or don't you know?
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow.

Nightmares of when my wildling love fell;
Future this witch offers me, she foretells.
To claim what is mine should I stay or go?
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow.

The walking dead penetrates my slumber deep,
Doesn't matter as my kind very seldom sleep.
Responsibility comes from the seeds that we sow.
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow.

Try if you may, you won't penetrate this wall;
Even should the seven kingdoms come to call.
Ready with faithful sword and merciful bow.
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow.

The eyes of the red witch piercing my soul.
As I'm curious to her plight and her goal.
A promise of my birthright upon me bestowed.
When heart is frozen nothing melts the snow.
