I'm sure many of you have already heard that The Selection is coming soon on Netflix. Luckily the only information we have so far is the name of the director who I still ought to do research on. With that said I felt it was time to rush to my shelf and re-read the series AT LEAST ONCE before the movie release.... No wait before the trailer or hopefully before the casting comes out.
For years people have been talking about the prospect of turning The Selection into a movie and I, an avid reader with a wild imagination, has never really been into it. Like I am personally against face claims and I tend to turn off the internet when reading stuff here on Wattpad as to not see the media coz I'd rather leave what characters look like to my imagination. Like I totally regret watching some movies before reading the book because it shuns us away from reading the character description and immediately just makes us imagine the actors who play them. Heck even with just the book covers of The Selection we already have Audrey Hollister (the model on the covers) in mind when we picture America.
What bugs me the most is that since Kiera Cass described her leading men to be so unrealistically handsome, I expect nothing short of a cartoon. Us OG fans have already made a mental image of how Maxon (among others) is, that I don't think there is such an actor handsome enough to play the role. Plus, If I don't get an Aspen with green eyes (ahem Harry Potter) I will declare war.
No but seriously the main point of this is that There is no such thing as an actor handsome enough to play Maxon. On a brighter note, at least it would give me a better picture of Gavril. I personally have used the host in The Hunger Games as a face claim for Gavril and I have high hopes that the casting team could do better than that. (Not that I have anything against him, I just don't think it would be appropriate)
Though I am looking forward to seeing The Heir & The Crown as a motion picture because as you'll find out in the next chapters, I didn't really like those books so I would have nothing to loose from their future movie. Who knows? Maybe it could change my mind about the whole sequel.

Just realized that in December of 2018 I was about to post a rant chapter about this very issue and my stance on that topic never changed.
