Jack's breathing hitches.  He doesn't know if he can do this.  Kill or be killed?  He wont hurt anybody.  He's not his father.  He can't be like his father.  Sunlight hits his skin and he flinches, blinking and trying to focus; he takes in deep breaths and tries to calm himself.  Okay, what would a hunter do?  Work out where you are first, right?  Jack looks around.  There's a large abandoned warehouse directly in front of him, probably three stories high.  He's close to it, maybe 6 metres?  He stares at the entrance directly in front of him and through the other side, where an older man wearing rough clothes and a baseball cap is standing.  'Okay, he looks like a hunter, he's human'  Jack thinks, turning his head to the right.  On the podium next to him, maybe ten metres, is a girl who looks around 18 or 19, the same as his age that he uses for cover ups.  Jack squints through the sunlight reflecting off the metal wall of the warehouse, trying to take in as much information about the girl as possible.  She has blonde hair pulled back into a plait down her left shoulder, she's braced to run into the warehouse.  'Okay, she looks a little young to be a hunter, but she's determined.  Defiantly human.' He thinks, turning to look the other way.  A tall man stands on the podium to his left, he looks like he's overheating in the large trench coat he's in, with a full suit beneath it.  The man is staring at Jack with a confused expression.  Jack stares back.  Why does he look so familiar? 'He's not human' something in his mind tells him.

The man, wide eyed, turns on his spot on the podium and breaks into a sprint towards the forest behind them.  "Wait!" Jack steps off his platform, but the man is gone.  A clashing meets his ears and he turns towards the warehouse that he had temporarily forgotten about.  There's another clash.  Does he go in?  A shout of pain comes from inside and he enters the warehouse.  The blonde girl is on the ground, holding her right thigh in pain.  A boy standing over her turns to Jack, teeth bared, claws drawn.  "Defiantly not Human" Jack backs up, whispering to himself.  He gathers his courage and raises a hand towards the werewolf.  "Stop" he says with demand.  Theo sneers, stepping closer.  Jack looks at his hand, wide eyed.  Why aren't his powers working?  Theo takes another step towards, him, pushing him up against the wall.  Jack gasps, looking over the wolf's shoulder to the girl.  "Run!" he gets out, The werewolf aggressively pushes him harder against the wall.  She scrambles to pick up the knife on the dirt, dragging herself to her feet and pushing herself out the entrance.  Jack watches as she reaches the forest, Theo reaches up, dragging a claw up the boy's neck.  "Please" Jack tries, tears forming in his eyes.  The boy stares at him, reaching one hand up, ready to attack. Jack closes his eyes.  He doesn't know what else to do.  'Please, if you're out there, help me' he prays.  It feels un-natural, but maybe the man who in the trench coat is an angel, maybe he will come back if he hears the prayer.

An ear-splitting roar shakes the warehouse, dust and hay falling from the pillars of wood above their heads.  The pressure falls away from Jack's chest instantly and his eyes fly open, but the only thing he sees is his competitor's tail end, flying into the woods at a rapid speed.  Jack sighs, falling to the ground.

"Jack" He jumps at the sound, pulling himself to his feet quickly and whipping his head around.

"Jack, can you hear me?" the voice is strained, like it's crying.

"Where are you?" Jack dives for a knife sitting on the ground, turning in his place, there are four entrances, she could be anywhere.

"I-I don't know, in a shed, near a town, a-and a river"

Jack's eyebrows knit together as he looks around.  There's no river outside.  No town.

"Jack, It's me, AJ.  I heard your prayer"
